Weight is a bit annoying.
Weight in this game is absurd, realistic maybe but not fun to be over encumbered in only a single damned vein or big block of stone mined if there is anything that needs tweaking it's weight it's not fun to gather resources or mine but it's fun to fight and collect pals. Yeah I get weight is a survival mechanic thing but I have never seen it balanced this poorly usually in games like this they do lower Yields and keep recipes far more reasonable but this game balances weight and recipe ingredients quite poorly.

Then put points into weight.

I did and it still like 16 points into weight and I am still full up in like a single ore vein.

your holding something wrong then because i can hold way more than that also what Multiplier resource are you playing on because if its anything over 2x thats probably why lmao ore nodes are rareish early so patches of 1-2 veins are most with 6-8 in mountains also build a forge right next to them dump the ore in the forge and turn it to bars much less weight

Yeah, I'm with you, its really annoying.

While we're at it, also hate tool durability. It just adds an interruption to the busywork where i have to go fix my tools.

What weight stat do people have? I'm not having problems at 750.
Ellie Jan 21, 2024 @ 5:42am
Yeah weight is rather frustrating. I found myself putting stats into either HP or Weight. I also hate durability. It wouldn't be so bad if durability was decent. But you break a couple rocks and it's broken. Even with the metal tools. Hopefully it's something that changes in the future.

My brother in christ, one single point into weight gives +50. That's insane. If you're struggling with weight in this game it's definitely a you problem. Use some Cattivas. Put 2-3 in your party. They're on the lower end in terms of power level so try to get ones with better passives like Vanguard or something.

There's plenty of solutions to your problem

Don't know, kinda like how the game is better treating stuff like stone and that you can't just carry thousands of pounds of it, just because it's a basic crafting ingredient.
Tachyon Jan 21, 2024 @ 5:50am
That's what the Stone and Lumber stations are for. As soon as you get those you set a couple of suitable Pals on them and let them get cracking. They can store 9,999 stone & lumber and it's all accessible at your workbenches and building menu. Iron Ore is still manual labour, at least up to my level of 18, but there's a spot many people use (Desolate Church or something) which has 6 or 7 ore nodes within a few yards of each other. I put my second base there to drop in maybe once or twice a day and mine them all. They respawn every hour, as best I can judge.

I haven't seen another player there yet though, strangely. I deliberately backed my hub against the edge of a cliff, so as not to hog too much room and the nodes are accessible to anyone. I'm not one of those who puts walls around resources, like some lowlives in games.

I'm after Tombats right now, or I was before the server went down, and they can mine Iron Ore for you, so personal carry capacity ceases to be a problem. Just sit back and watch them mine away. 🙂

That's called being a liar. One ore weighs 8, one vein gives 40. 16 points in weight would give you an extra 800, including your initial weight you could comfortably mine out 3 veins and not be overburdened.

The solutions you mention dont do enough. A single vein of ore used to put me massively overburdened. Now ive put a bunch of points in, and i can... BARELY eek out two veins if my inventory is ENTIRELY empty besides essentials. Which, isnt enough ore to do much of anything, I might add.

Lets be honest, would it really take much away if they didnt have encumberance? You still have an inventory limit anyways. You reeeeally don't need to double dip on both mechanics.
Toxi Jan 21, 2024 @ 5:53am
my problem is with things like Ore that are insanely heavy and fill up that 400 weight limit almost as soon as you start going out to mine for some..

I don't like that, not even a little bit and we shouldn't need to bloat that weight limit to 800-1200 right off the bat just to have a decent experience.
Rokonuxa Jan 21, 2024 @ 5:56am
I can carry a whole vein with 5 points in weight. Maybe you could adjust the world settings to level more and just put points in weight, maybe there is even a setting for it, idk.
PH3N0M3N0N Jan 21, 2024 @ 5:58am
that is why you build a base on top of veins spot and let your pal loose on them

I guess he's maybe on Official Servers, as I am. Could be wrong.
