Yeah, I'm with you, its really annoying.
While we're at it, also hate tool durability. It just adds an interruption to the busywork where i have to go fix my tools.
There's plenty of solutions to your problem
I haven't seen another player there yet though, strangely. I deliberately backed my hub against the edge of a cliff, so as not to hog too much room and the nodes are accessible to anyone. I'm not one of those who puts walls around resources, like some lowlives in games.
I'm after Tombats right now, or I was before the server went down, and they can mine Iron Ore for you, so personal carry capacity ceases to be a problem. Just sit back and watch them mine away. 🙂
The solutions you mention dont do enough. A single vein of ore used to put me massively overburdened. Now ive put a bunch of points in, and i can... BARELY eek out two veins if my inventory is ENTIRELY empty besides essentials. Which, isnt enough ore to do much of anything, I might add.
Lets be honest, would it really take much away if they didnt have encumberance? You still have an inventory limit anyways. You reeeeally don't need to double dip on both mechanics.
I don't like that, not even a little bit and we shouldn't need to bloat that weight limit to 800-1200 right off the bat just to have a decent experience.
I guess he's maybe on Official Servers, as I am. Could be wrong.
