No like seriously... What?
ARK was built using the Unreal 4 Engine, The shoddy 'remake' was Made using the Newer Unreal 5 Engine.
Every since the game 'Unreal' landed folks have used/licensed the 'Unreal' Engine for hundreds if not Thousands of games.. back in the day it was either Unreal or The ID Engine if you wanted to make anything 3D.
There's no such thing as the 'Ark Engine' The Game got sold to Snail.. The Engine it's written (cough hacked into) from is still the Unreal Engine.
that concludes today's lesson Kids.
Class Dismissed.
So maybe I dont have the exact terminology, maybe "Framework" is better?
You could say its specific tot he Unreal engine, but as someone who does not use the unreal engine daily to know what the backend looks like, I recognize games that all use the Ark framework in the sense of "oh, i have technology that advances in a very particular way, oh i have saddles I can craft for mounts, gee there sure are a lot of mounts" etc
The fact that basically everyone who has played Ark is calling it "Pokemon Ark" should be an example of how absolutely recognizable the advancement system and the HUG is the moment someone opens the menu system.
I'm not complaining about the game being ARK, I am simply curious if people would have skipped it BECAUSE the inventory screen is so similar to Ark.
...
... And no, I am not attacking China, I simply said copy-write laws were DIFFERENT.
So it doesn't mean they are using the same customized unreal engine as the ark did.
Coincidence then.
Still a bit odd that they made trailers without showing the HUD.
Were they worried they would get the push back that ATLUS did when it launched?
These are hypothetical questions that pop into my head that are not meant o troll or harm, simply observe how certain structures of gameplay are affecting people.
I do not aim to be a troll, I am genuinely curious about these aspects.
This is just a guess, but they might not have had it nailed down. They changed engines part ways through and at that time were likely planning the change. That would explain why, they were possibly worried that it would be completely different from the release version.
Maybe I just play a selection of weird niche games no one actually cares about because they are small devs that dont have a hype train behind them XD
