losing ancient civilization part out of nowhere

Hi, its been two times already my ancient civilization part disapear for no reason, i was trying to collect 4 for a crossbow 2. at 2 when i got my 3rd one, its never showed, then did a dungeon to have 3 part. then kill the king penguin and got 2 part. im still at 3 part. no item where forgotten on death or anything. been 2 times tonight my part suddenly vanish out of nowhere... kinda annoying

I've noticed this too. The only way to keep them from disappearing is to keep them on your person. If you plop them in the chests at your base, they seem to despawn. Really kinda sucks because I have a whopping 2 of them when I should have like 40

can confirm, no idea why but I've had ancient parts vanish.

I've kept them on my person only and still had this problem. Twice. One part each time.

Has not happened for me. Make sure you (or someone else if you're in a guild/online) isn't crafting things with them by accident.

Im playing solo and they keep disappearing from my chest too, its really annoying

For me it what that exactly! I didn't even realize that reparing some items uses them up. This is crazy! It makes no sense! These things are far to valuable. It's far easier to just replace the broken item. I dissasembled my reapir bench to protect myself from accidetnaly using it again.

Yeah, any up-tier items from schematics will consume parts to repair. The same goes for any up-tier shields you wear. The more parts used to craft an item, the more parts it will consume when repaired. So you need to weigh the usefulness of the item against its upkeep cost.

No raids, not using for repairs - they just disappear - and yes, a year later this is STILL happening.

I had one on my person and completed a boss fight - at the end of the fight, it was gone. Funny thing though, when I logged out of the prior session, they had ALL disappeared, so when I logged in and saw it in my inventory, I was a bit surprised - not too surprised it disappeared right after the boss fight though...
