No shinies, but there are giant versions of pals with powers they shouldn't have.

I caught a beeg chicken that fires dark energy beams, pretty cool.

Yeah, it call elite you hear the sound effect when you near them they bigger than regular pal and much stronger too, i got one and it have 2 golden trait.

Yes there are, but they are called "Luckies". They are found randomly throughout the world as far as I've been able to tell.

They are called luckies actually. They shine bright as hell, make a shimmering sound, are larger versions of the pals and have abilities they normally shouldn't have. I got a lamball lucky earlier with dragonbreath...

Mine doesn't shine at all after I caught it. It's just a big boi. He's otherwise underwhelming because when I found him he was glowing and cool

.... their spawn is very rare.... but this dude is amazing for early game... Solarcannon and increased attackpower, but sadly it got the fragile trait, that decreases his defense.
Nonetheless, there are rare versions of everything like "shinies"

Idk if it was just luck but I found 2 Luckies pretty close to each other at night time. I wonder if night time increases their spawn chances or if was just sheer coincidence. I don't usually explore at night, I try to sleep it away.

night time or day time in general has only influence on the type of Pals that spawn (at nighttime there spawn totally different ones than during the day), but not their rarity.

Already at the beginning of the game, after 5 hours, I caught two lucky Pals. It was during the day so it doesn't really matter. At that time I didn't know they were so rare. I currently have 9 hours in the game.

Got a big lucky kitty early on. Because the pals craft with you by standing behind you (or right where you're standing), she gives me hugs while helping.

ive seen two in about 30 hourss.
One ive been able to catch, the other was killed by my pals before i had a chance :)
