Please add a toggle "press F" function to crafting!!
the game is fun, but a HUGE time is spent crafting things. and holding F for literal hours is just not fun. at least let us just press it one time so we can go do other things while it crafts

Edit: i Understand you can change the settings. i don't want to. i want to play with the settings the devs thought would be best. however crafting still sucks. it's not hard to add a "toggle/hold" feature. lol

Have you like, literally played? Give it a couple minutes. Capture some Pals. You'll see.

you do realize the point is to get your monsters to do that work for you right? that's the answer you're looking for. you're not supposed to be the one holding F to do it if you don't want to. check your monsters stats page and look at what they specialize in. One icon is of a hand and the monsters with that icon can do that work for you.

I agree.. I usually put something heavy down for the large crafting and walk away from the computer.
Roland Jan 20, 2024 @ 9:11pm
Its just like that for the very beginning of the game. Once you have some pals assigned to your base you can choose a type that can do your work for you. Start the job and then pick up the correct pal and throw it at the workstation. Then go do other things while it crafts.

Why are you manually crafting anything? I'll occasionally help my pals out crafting something but... hours? The only things you hard craft yourself is the first 10 minutes of the game.

When i'm first getting set up, I simply put something small on my F key and use my wrist rest to hold it down. I'm not gonna sit there to craft a million arrows.

I have one of my party members dedicated to handiworks so that I don't have to try to select them from the pal pile and then get the game to recognize me throwing them at the thing instead of the thing three feet to the right of it. I hope in the future they just let you use the podium to assign pal jobs instead of having to screw around with a giant flopping ragdoll lol.

I think it would be cool if the Pal computer showed your workstations and had a slot next to them so you could assign Pals to specific workstations that way. We need these guys chained to their desks...lol

then status for improving your craft speed shouldn't even exist but that isn't main point of this thread is it?

i'm all for adding "toggle" option, as much as waste of time it is

Satisfactory (a game where automation is the entire gameplay loop) dragged there feet on adding a toggle instead of hold as well, and they finally did it, and no one misses the old way. More options for QoL especially toggles are never a bad thing, if they made it an option you can always choose to keep it off.

I'm not angry about the request or fighting against it, just simply informing OP that the point of the game is to make your monsters do it. I never played Satisfactory and so idk anything about it. I just know this game and this game it's not a problem to craft as I have my human slaves to craft for me.

why shouldn't it exist? because you want to make a bad argument? nobody is saying you can't craft on your own or that doing it is bad, but that complaining about something that's purpose is to be automated is silly. having improved craft speed is good because it helps you get more when you want to be more hands-on with your base and getting more resources and such. idk why that shouldn't exist lol

because it's a waste of status that you shouldn't dump into? you are almost intentionally missing the damn point of thread so i can't really make any good argument out of it in first place, nobody cares about your "info", cuz it isn't even adding anything to anyone's knowledge... it's on store page in case you haven't noticed.... literally pokimon enslaved to make gun for you...

but when you really want to get things done yourself or feel like crafting together with your pal, holding down F key for so damn long gets quite annoying. that's why toggle would be a nice option... at least this way you can go to take a piss while your character is doing something instead of literally standing still..

I use my Pals and wedge a toothpick into my F key area to auto craft

Except it's not a waste and I literally explained why in the post you replied to lmao what? you're really bad at this dude just bad at making arguments and apparently bad at reading too. you're the only one who is intentionally missing the point of the thread. read the OP again dude:

"a HUGE time is spent crafting things"
"holding F for literal hours is just not fun"
"let us just press it one time so we can go do other things while it crafts"

the entire point is OP thinks they need to spend a lot of time holding F to craft things and they wished there was a way for things to craft while they go do other things. hmmmm it's almost as if that's a feature in the game presented by the monsters doing the job for you? also ironically your bad analogy is also a response and solution to OP's problem. find a Pal that increases your work speed or spend your own points into leveling your work speed so it doesn't take "literal hours" to hold F, and again, you can do that AND have Pals that craft for you and you help them while they craft so it goes faster too.

In other words, the toggle already exists except it's not an option on a menu it's just a game feature.
Zero Hour 17 Jan 21, 2024 @ 1:04am
There is no good reason to not add a toggle on top of a hold. No pals crafting is not a good reason. You still have to stand there to craft if you want to do it, but at least you can get up an take a piss.
