Do dedicated servers pause when nobody is playing?

Or do I have to manually put the server offline to prevent random raids from happening when me and my friends log off?

I use gportal as a provider, in case that's relevant.

dedicated servers that are hosted by gportal etc are not gonna go offline if no one is on the server they still online. Turn them manualy of or protect them by putting a server password on it.

I meant the NPC raids that happen, the server already has a password

on my experience no i think its like a "event" that triggers if someone is in his base

there is a bug atm ur pals are glitching out of the blue circle and unable to come back or glitching on ores trees farms etc and get food no food = dead
