Black Screen on Startup

I have tried:
restarting steam
running as administrator
turning off full screen optimization
reinstalling graphic drivers
verifying game files
reinstalling game
waiting 10 minutes on the black screen
allowed bypassing firewall

Each several times in a number of combinations and orders.
My computer has the recommended stats, not just the minimum.
Is there something I’m missing?

I hope someone finds a secret, or there;s an update very soon to fix this problem myself and many others are experiencing. It's one thing to have a game keep crashing, but another to not even get to make a character because of this black screen of death. But it's not even death when it never lives to begin with.

I cant get past the loading either. Turns black and crashes my whole PC. Try again, it crashes my pc and graphics drivers so I have to reinstall them. Error said something about a permission issue? But all my permissions appear to be fine. All my other games seem to run ok but 1. Very weird that I have just 2 that do this on start up every time.

supposedly there's an official response to this that claims that if you're experiencing the black screen to wait 10 minutes on it and it will go to the opening screen of the game, i am not so sure that it is a reliable solution, and if we will have to do it each time attempting to play, but the devs are aware of it and looking for a permanent fix. not everyone is experiencing it, and the guy talking about the host file was so vague that i can't find and resolve that solution myself

I waited 15 minutes, closed all windows except steam, didn't alt tab out of the black screen, and finally just closed it. I've already racked up over an hour on that screen. Trying to keep it under the 2 hour limit to refund, if it never launches.

this was a response directly from a community manager on their discord
About the bug "the game goes dark and does not start" we are currently receiving inquiries about, it has been confirmed in the development environment that "the game starts up to the opening by waiting for 10 minutes". Very sorry for the inconvenience, but please try this!!

"I waited 15 minutes" I think that covers the 10 minute wait. I also disabled my firewall, and 2 dozen other tinkers trying to find what's stopping it. I've never, ever had an issue like this with any game.

i also am suffering here, im about to call it a night, been messing with this for about 3 hours trying to find a solution
