Breeding so far is awful - rant
the cakes require take sooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking long to make which is a requirement to make your pals breed. that is not what is irritating me though...

i put two birds together because I got one with increased speed and wanted a better baby....what I got instead was a freaking electric wolf with the increased speed...NONE OF THE BABIES SO FAR HAVE BEEN EITHER SPECIES AS THE PARENTS, WHY ARE THEY RANDOM?!?!?

babies should always at least be the same species as one of the parents, the fact that so far they've been totally random and not even of the same elemental types of the parents is frustrating and stupid

maybe I'm missing something here? i doubt there is a really in depth breeding guide out yet, if there is I can't find it

they are random... unless you breed 2 of the same species together... so if you want a baby bird... breed birds..

I agree the cakes take too long to make, especially because 1 cake = 1 egg. They should either make them faster to craft, or make it so they last for 3 eggs or so.

As for the random offspring, it's supposed to be either the species of one of the parents or a random species. I don't think it's working properly, I bred a Nitewing with a Surfent several times, and each time the offspring was a Cinnamoth. That doesn't look random to me.
Imo, it should be something like 45% chance for mother's species, 45% for father's and 10% for random, not whatever we have now.

Breeding provides a random offspring? One of the thing I was most excited for was the breeding system. The advertisements made it seem like you could get the same species as the parent, but with a new elemental power or something.

This is very disappointing to hear.

so far I have not had any of my babies be the same species as either of the parents even though I bred two birds together (not the same species but they were still both birds) and they kept sh****ng out electric pals (despite parents being both neutral element)

like I said, I may just be doing it wrong but so far its been super frustrating for me

i put a nitewing with a galeclaw twice and it sh**t out electric wolves...the nitewing and galeclaw are both birds...

Good catch. In that game series that shall remain unnamed, the offspring is based on the species of the mother, so it's predictable what you'll get when breeding. The stuff that is random about that series' breeding is pretty annoying, so adding more layers of randomization sounds pretty rough. I suspect that the system makes more sense when looked at at a macro scale, though. One benefit I can think of is if there's certain species that are difficult or even impossible to find in the wild, but can be more easily obtained through the breeding system.

You have to put two nitewings or two galeclaw if you want to guarantee one or the other.

So you have to breed two of the same species or else you'll get an egg with a random result of the same type? Noted, thank you.

my luck cause nitewing are so rare for some reason and the ones i have been finding have all been male...

both my parents were neutral element and both eggs came out electric wolf so not even the same type as the parents let alone same species

I am going to have to agree, this system is absolutely awful. I tried to breed a fox sickle and a direhowel... And i get a cow... Every time.

That is really really stupid, really really unintuitive and extremely frustrating given how tedious the entire process is to begin. The child should be one of the two parents unless there is a fusion available for that combination
Tacticat Jan 22, 2024 @ 12:09am
Afaik its NOT random. Its just wierd. Cross em and u get sth diffrent...but kitsuna getting a cow breeding tge same does confirm it i guess we need to find out what gets what

Honestly, thats weird and stupid. I understand some new species made by breeding specific pals, but usually games that make that a result of breeding either dont do it for every combination, they make it a % chance, or make it opt in through using an item

Huh, breeding 2 of the same species to get one of the same species is stupid?
