The Pal AI is actually impressive?
The initiative that the Pal AI show is impressive to me. The way that they automatically carry incapacitated allies, automatically store food that they farm, automatically join battles near the base. It's just really interesting to me.

I also like that wild Pals fight each other. It feels more authentic. I hate games where *you* are the only "enemy" in the world.

What about you guys? Can you confirm or deny the quality of the AI so far in Early Access?

It generally gets the job done, but pathfinding is bad, they will also all gather up to complete the same tasks if possible (watering, harvesting, carrying around etc etc). They can't collect products from benches and such themselves, you can't give them priorities for example NOT to mine unlimited stone for example etc etc. They do also stuck in some weird areas occasionally.
For the current version it's adequate, but it requires attention.

Nah it get stuck a lot and the task priority really get weird at times. But when it does work it kinda nice watching them relax, sleep and eat. At the moment it has many glitch including getting stuck easily, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tons of ore, stunned and doing nothing etc.
gets stuck esp if you afk in base you watch them just spazzing out because pathfinding or logic is bugged out.

try not to have too much buildings in your base otherwise you'd really notice it

It's fine and passable, but definitely has some glaring issues. Large Pals in particular are self-sabotagers who will ignore using spas and beds, and require massive amounts of space between interactables or will get stuck.

I desperately wish there was a Tasklist or Priority Setting, even a way to Cease Production on certain buildings, because if you have a Robinquill for instance, they'll seemingly always prioritise Lumbering over Handiwork.

Pals also don't remember the task they're assigned to (when thrown at a workbench manually) between Loading/Saving, Fast Traveling, or even simply moving away from the base.

Something akin to the Monitoring Stand that allowed you to toggle Work types of Pals would be a good start.

Oh yeah, I happened to run into two male moss elephant guys fighting each other. I found it interesting and wondered if this was accidental or was this intended behavior like... they were fighting over territory, food, or a female member of the species.

I also saw a flock of galewinds descend upon a fleeing pack of ribunnies and then swarm and converge on the one dead one to eat it......

For EA it's pretty good.
