Is there a way to find the last few you are missing? Like is there an item or ability that lets you find them easier. Something that doesn't rely on your eyes to get that one final level.

i don't believe there is, but what i've been doing is riding one of my flying pals during night. they illuminate a ton so if you can fly, do explorations during nighttime

Well good news for you some of them are hidden so absurdly that just "flying" will not let you spot them. Good luck with that method when you get high enough level and needing to find the remaining ones.
