I had to pick one up and drop him near it... might be good for harder to craft meals but for most part felt meh to me...

i am dropping him near it but it says something like no job near buy or somethign and it walks away

Try dismantling the fridge and rebuilding it other then that not sure. Mine didn't actively seek it out but the moment I dropped it on him hes been doing it now.

Take a look to its abilities, take the pal with cooling in your hands and assign it to the ice box

Yeah pathing and Pal AI + actions need a bit of work.
I had problems with my firefox Pal that got stuck on my house, and wouldn't do any work because of that.
I would go to the box, remove him and then put him back in. Worked until they start to take a rest.

I'd try moving the box to a more open space if you haven' tried that and, as has been suggested, carry your frosty-pal over to the box and drop it. I'm with @DeusEx above in thinking it's probably either AI pathing. Either that or the job isn't being prioritized for some reason so replacing it and/or moving your pal SHOULD address it in my experience with the fire+furnace combo.

Make sure that the Pals can get to it. You can check by dismantling and rebuilding it. If nobody comes to build it then they can't reach it. I couldn't put it where I wanted two times before I just said ♥♥♥♥ it and tossed it in the middle of the field. Looks stupid.

I've had it be used, but it doesn't seem to actually work. My food just disappears from inside it anyway. :/

i put everything out side so they can use it the ice box is also out side but nope

Skip cooler box for now. They don't cool it reliably or they sit on it until they die...

sorry, late reply, i had the same issue. assigning a ice pal to cooler only works if there is items in the cooler. if its an empty cooler, ice pal proceeds to next chore because nothing needs cooled.

You can pick it up, then aim at the Cooler box, then toss it at the Cooler box, it will now permanently full focus on cooling the food inside.
