CPU reaches temps above 80 degrees celsius - stopped playing... as of now.
Yesterday I streamed for HOURS on end. No problem! Streaming on only 1 pc and playing the game!

Today I started playing with my friend (which we did yesterday a tiny bit - an hour or 1,5)
Also streamed a bit but then it completely crashed.
Cpu temps skyrocketed.
Restarted after everything cooled down.

No stream. But trying to go back to my own server. Same thing. Cpu temp skyrocketing and crashing the pc. This has now happened 3 times in a row.
Everything else besides this game - seems to work flawlessly.
So... I guess I can't play anymore.

Or are there specific tricks.

I am running an i9 something (dont remember)
1000watt power supply - and rtx 3080.
Thanks...

Locked FPS to 90 = lower temps for me! :)

Clean, and optimized set up, still high temps.
It's just optimized like crap. Like most games today.

That's not how that works.
If your system was properly cooled it would be reaching it's performance limits before overheating.

If you cannot hit the max performance of your parts without overheating, you are not properly cooled.

I saw you have an AIO. AIOs can run low on liquid, mine did and caused a substantial increase in temperature. Could be that

The author of the discussion had already stated several times that he changed the thermal paste and that he has good airflow before that reply.
They don't even know what CPU they have, even though you can check it with 2 clicks (seriously, Windows 11 you right click on start button, left click on system and it's in your face)
I don't believe that OP knows what they are talking about at all, especially since the reply above me says they mentioned an AiO. If they have an AiO airflow is irrelevant to the conversation entirely.

I did not read the rest of the replies, but at the end of the day the OP needs better cooling and the game has nothing to do with it.
As I said in my previous reply, a properly cooled machine hits it's performance limits before it overheats.

The game doesn't push your hardware beyond it's limits; no game does. So if they are overheating, they are not properly cooled. End of story.

Also have you checked that your AIO pump is actually working? If the AIO pump died or is dying it could overheat because of that and you'd not have any obvious sign as you can't see the pump spin like a fan

Hi buddy. Cinebench I still have to do. But gaming seems to be excellent again. Still though the games peak at around 75 degrees but the cpu temps really fluctuate quickly... one second it's 65 then it's 75 then it's a bit more stable at 63 - then it's stable at a higher temp. But no crashes so far and I also put on x6 cooling paste. I can game without problems and the fans are pretty quiet. I kinda wanna use AI tuning again but I think that's not a good idea.

Just did a Cinebench Multicore test and went from 754 points to 940. Took in between of 10 min to 15 min or so. Hopefully that's good. (this is without overclocking as far as I know).

Hello :steamhappy:
Ok, from what you tell me I understand that the situation has improved, the fluctuations should be normal because the sensor updates quickly unlike Armory Crate.
Never use automatic overclocks, for your i9 you should first do a downvolt and then raise the turbo frequencies with 9 active cores, then with 8, then with 7, etc... it's a bit complicated and takes a lot of time, if you are not familiar with these things, you should just downvolt if you haven't already done so.
940 on Cinebench is a good result, what temperatures did the CPU reach during the test?
However MSI afterburner + RivaTuner are useful for seeing the most important values in real time on the screen while you play, but the best software is HWiNFO64, the sensor table is much more detailed.

Yeah I dont know if I can do that. I am not a pc wizard by a longshot hahaha. The trolls can atest to that ;)
But thanks again. Everything seems a lot better now with the newer thermal paste and the noctua cooler. So glad as well as it removes a lot of stuff in the pc. I love it...

As I commented before I did check the bios and it said it was working yes. Thanks :)

I think so too. Enshrouded game runs a lot cooler but wont quit when shutting down - other people have this problem as well.

ITs a mix of things. Thanks.

Look like you may have to upgrade your PC or do some dust cleaning for your pc.
Tafka 2024 年 1 月 25 日 下午 2:59
damn.... seems that is you hardware or cooling or something else
I run that game on 4k and max setting CPU temp 65C, GPU 68-74 C

No I don't.

Dust done a couple of days ago - before all of this happened. Streamed with 110 fps or so. No problems. Then after update game got fooked a little bit. Pc crashed.
I knew / know which cpu I have (to the other person above here) but these names annoy me! i9 10900k comet lake or whatever cake or lake, comet or vomit.

Anyway. After new thermal paste and new cooler - noctua NHD15 chromax black the system runs quieter and smoother.

Later I took the overclock off as well - and the temps at idle / internet use are around 35 / 40 now. GPU is around 42 as well.

When playing enshrouded cpu temp goes to 75 max
When playing palworld even on 90fps lock with different settings it CAN go up to 80 or 85 but system still feels cooler than it did before.

No top fans this time only 3 fans in the front of my coolermaster open case (shroud).
3 fans sucking cold air in - 1 fan inbetween the noctua cooler sucking as well - 1 other fan behind the cooler on the tail / or azz end sucking outward as well.
Maybe I could put 3 fans on top sucking cold air in or shooting warm air out - or just 1 above the cpu sucking the warm air outwards as well.
I dont know what's good or what not but as of now all seems very stable and really good!

Got rid of armory crate completely and use signal rgb for rgb lighting. Works a treat as well. I know a little bit of what I am doing but I am not saying I am an expert.
Thanks.

I have to agree with you that it may have to do with the lack of optimization. With this game being in Early Access, optimization is low on the totem pole of problems the devs are going to deal with.
I'm running a brand new system. Literally less than a month old. I will admit that my case doesn't have the greatest airflow or the best components but, that being said, it can run just about everything else in the 65-70C range. Yes, I'm going to upgrade to 32GB RAM. I thought I'd be good with 16 for a little while longer but, damn these RAM hungry games are coming out faster and faster.
With Palworld, I have to take off the top cover to allow more air flow over the AIO, otherwise, it will get to 80C on my CPU.
My GPU handles the game like a champ. I've never seen it get over 60C. CPU use for the game seems to be a bit wonky for some of us. Cuz you know, lack of optimization.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
16GB DDR4 3600Mhz
Nvidia RTX 3080

The temps on my R9 7900X are like 80C and that's normal lol.

I'm starting to think that may be the new normal.
Granted, my PC gaming days go all the way back to the old Apple computers in the early 80's when they didn't put out much heat at all.
But, I've noticed that as the decades go by and components are drawing more and more power, the heat tolerance of said components is also going up, leading to higher operating temperatures across the board.
As long as my CPU doesn't get above 90C, I'm not going to worry too much. The cooling is doing it's job.
