CPU reaches temps above 80 degrees celsius - stopped playing... as of now.
Yesterday I streamed for HOURS on end. No problem! Streaming on only 1 pc and playing the game!

Today I started playing with my friend (which we did yesterday a tiny bit - an hour or 1,5)
Also streamed a bit but then it completely crashed.
Cpu temps skyrocketed.
Restarted after everything cooled down.

No stream. But trying to go back to my own server. Same thing. Cpu temp skyrocketing and crashing the pc. This has now happened 3 times in a row.
Everything else besides this game - seems to work flawlessly.
So... I guess I can't play anymore.

Or are there specific tricks.

I am running an i9 something (dont remember)
1000watt power supply - and rtx 3080.
Thanks...

I run that game in 4k Max settings
GPU 90% and 70C
CPU 2% and 50C
I think you need a better Cooler
or you just need to change Thermalpaste

Run hwmonitor and find your idle temps. Your cooling solution may have failed. Happened to me. My poor pc was idling at 80c. Replaced my liquid cooling with one with a digital display and haven't had an over heating issue since. Found this out thanks to Diablo 4.

Just as you mentioned every other game worked flawlessly. Only other issue I had was I couldn't get Spiderman to run to save my life. Ended up refunding the game before finding a solution. Wasn't long after when I bought D4 and had to jump down the rabbit hole of tech support to find out my stock liquid cooler bit the dust. I was still under warranty but didn't want to wait for the replacement nor send my entire system back to change one part. First time I didn't build my own but with the pandemic and the silicon shortage at the time it was worth it for me.

I changed the thermalpaste yes - it helped a little bit but not a lot.
Better cooler is on the way.

It's eu4 game. SHouldn't be hard on cpu. I think you need to check your hardware. Do soem occt or other stresstesting benchmarks on your cpu to see how it performs under load.

I still have a ryzen5 and it works fine, my CPU load isnt above 50% during the game, the temps dont rise above 60C°. It is definitely your hardware even if "other games" dont do that ♥♥♥♥ now.

I had in the past some experience with those overheating things, it sometimes really looks like it is one game causing the stuff, but it will eventually end up being caused in any game. maybe your CPU is damaged and the game runs an area of your CPU more often than this one can handle.

Kind of weird, my i9-1200K doesn't go past 60*C. I use a 360 (EK Nucleus) AIO, thermalright frame and quality paste though.

Nice! My new cooler will come in today but I am now doubting the connection as Amazon (asus) store seems to be scamming - they have multiple versions of the cooler and they have put the wrong pictures in the advert. So worst case scenario I have to wait some days again for a new order.

Anyway. Yesterday I have been playing the game once more - multiple times - and cpu still gets hot around 80 and sometimes over. No crashes anymore and just smooth gameplay on 60fps. And I streamed for a bit as well. Smooth - no problems. Same temps. Which is weird. But I still appreciate every single comment on this topic.

I literally am looking at specific options and yall motivate me - with hate or with love. All good.

I will report back when the new cooler is installed.

Let me know how it works out. Palworld only crashed just like this if I had chrome/youtube/twitch open on my 2nd monitor. But if I don’t have those running in the background I never crash. I guess more demanding games on my cpu will crash if I have chrome open. :cozybethesda:

Yea thanks for sticking with this thread despite the trolls, I think now I know I’m either having a cooling problem or just need to limit the fps. I’m playing on the Xbox gamepass version not sure if that helps.

The steam version is said to be far better than everything else... So yeah your mileage may vary. And thank you too!

Yeah, ii had serious crashing issues (UE5 related) first, but that ended after putting -dx12 to the game lauch options. Not sure if it got a update at some point, or that is what fixed it for me. I did also read Gamepass -version certification process takes a bit of time, so it's behind the Steam -version a patch or two.

Ah right. I remember one patch on the game. But that was on launch day If I am not mistaken.

Old thermal paste, bad airflow optimization in general not the game but user fault

One more thing you can check because I had the same problem.
I use a gaming laptop and besides the rtx2060 my laptop has an integrated Intel stock card.
So what happens is sometimes some games can't detect my nvidia card and run on the integrated. I always know when it happens because the performance is trash. So if you have integrated graphic card you should force the game through nvidia/amd control panel to run the game.
