20 Pal Max Base Limit
There is no reason for this. It's 15 as a base, and 20 as a max. I can see this limit for online servers, but not for those that play single player or in 1-4 player co-op hosted worlds.

I already have to micromanage the Pals on my base because of poor pathing and job priority logic issue. I don't know why you'd want to complicate that even further.

In the dedicated server ini I was able to set max pals per base to 100 and the server loaded. Made a backup of the save as I have no idea what this will do to the game as we continue to level up and unlock things. (None of us has hit level 20 yet)

I do wonder how a public server would survive in this game. Sure 32 players is the max online at once, but pal automation basically means that even offline players are still contributing to server load. It's also a kind of automation that with its pathfinding and independent AI agents is gonna generally be much more demanding than something like conveyor belts with automated machinery.

If they raise it to 20 or 25, every single one of you would use it, so stop being obtuse. It is reasonable, and if you do not think so, do not do it when/if implemented. sheesh. It is a good question and suggestion.

Silly limitations is not "games mechanics".

That's not true at all. When you upgrade the base level to the point you can assign 10 pals, you can build a second base, when you upgrade it enough for 15 pals, you can make a 3rd base.

I also modified this setting, but I don’t know why it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
What has been modified is the BaseCampWorkerMaxNum attribute. In the upgrade interface, it still displays "The world setting limit is up to 15 pal".

Ah, some of us don't want multiple bases though.
Then Build them all side by side as one massive base

Any config file where this might be changeable? I can imagine you could change it some way to XXX I'd like to see the limits of my PC on this one ^^

my big issue witht this pal cap is, that i cant decide which ones to use.
i dont want to carry my items from one base to another, since the weight is also a bit over the top. so i kinda have to produce the most stuff in my main base. but if i have a lot of farming, i dont have pals for carrying / crafting.

since i noticed that their job finding is a bit buggy sometimes id love to have more for this jobs.

and im also the opinion that my performance etc. should be my own decicion. so if i would like to have 100 pals per base, they should let me do it. or give me more bases to place arround the map.
in singleplayer i wont hurt anyone with this.

this really is the only thing about the game so far which i dont like :D

There's enough pathing issues with 10 pals as is, 20 is a nightmare.

PROTIP: Do not build a base anywhere near cliffs.
(And cover the entire ground of the base area with tiles, because otherwise random trees will end up growing and blocking paths, and then half of your workers will be sitting in the river for the rest of their lives. As happened to me.)

I feel the need to reiterate but with the grapple gun you can move and then fast travel INFINITE weight. This makes moving mats between bases much less painful. Just load up all of it at the same chest and then grapple to the palbox, fast travel, grapple to a chest to dump the mats in, and there ya go. Including loading takes like 20 seconds to grab and move all mats of any weight in one trip (unless you miss with the grapple gun cause it has a cooldown).

Even with 20 pals and all facilities there's a lot going on, and things getting stuck in pathfinder and collision, I imagine it'd be even more severe with higher.

In official servers there's also a max base amount per world. So there has to have been q&a regarding performance and balance.

The same one that's gonna complain when they game starts crashing because of too many pals. Somebody get him a pacifier
