There are some drops you can only get by killing them. You must kill them to progress. I admit I was a little worried about killing my first one but the world gets infinitely repopulated and when you need whatever essence you only get by killing them the reticence disappears instantly..lol

It's really funny that how these things are branded makes a difference. Nobody has ever felt outrage or disgust over all the cute cavern dwellling animals we slaughter in Stardew Valley because they're called monsters. Its tough to kill your pal though...that is until you need their fire organ haha

I mean, the key thing people seem to miss is... Pals aren't Pokemon. They are depicted much more like normal animals with grand power. They don't share humanlike intelligence, and in some instances, They attack first... so at the end of the day; it's either them, or you.

Plus, butchering Pals is illegal, if other humans see you doing that, they will contact the authorities and send them after you. So how is it glorifying animal cruelty if you get punished for it if you get caught? lol

There is also the fact that the first NPC says they came as a group but he is the only one left cause the others got eaten by Pals. That part is already setting all players mindsets to kill or be killed, survival of the fittest and showing that the Pals wont mind eating you. Knowing that and those reactions and the lack of the mouse icon you can already see they dont even know what they are talking about and just talk crap to cancel the game, cause they are jealous the game is so successful while the games they like are not.

Cause the more cartoony the art style is the more unhinged and insane they sound, so this probably makes it easier farming jesters.
I myself would probably not be to eager to play a more realistic game with huge amounts of gore, would not feel good playing such a game, but i would not bother even stepping on that games forums since i dont own it. Hell i dont need to farm jesters i have over 100k points from buying games, also a good review or a helpful topic actually can get you much much more points from people giving you much higher worth awards.
