It's absolutely a ripoff in art design and the pokeball capture aspect, but the rest of the game is very much not Pokemon, which was actually a negative for a lot of folks when gameplay was finally revealed. I know I was hoping for something that could be a good replacement for Pokemon for me, even if it was just a knockoff, but I'm okay with this game being more like Ark and such instead.
