Connection Timeout Error
Hello. I'm trying to host a game through the default multiplayer option on Palworld, however he keeps getting a connection timeout error when attempting to join with the invite code. We've tried restarting the game, power cycling and reinstalling the game but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas that might help? Do I need to port forward if I'm not doing a dedicated server?

Login to private servers is still busted and limited to by IP. If you try the other methods you get Connection Timed Out.
Tried for over 3 hours tonight with a friend. Constant server timed out error. Talk about frustration to the max. Didn’t matter if it were trying to join his world with a code, or trying to join one of the many servers. Oh and don’t forget the infinite world loading screen. I had to Ctrl alt delete the game 5 times to get out of that.

can you please help, can I write to you in direct message on steam?
I don’t know where I can fix this, can you explain step by step how to fix it, you couldn’t connect to your friends using the invitation code? I just manage to connect to servers via IP, but I can’t connect to friends in the world via an invitation code and it gives me the error “Connection Timeout Error”

I had the same problem I'm the host and my friends couldn't join. You have to port forward both 27015 & 8211, and after that you have to code your firewall configuration to allow your friends to join you can do that by these codes:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Palworld Port 27015" dir=in action=allow protocol=UDP localport=27015
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Palworld Port 8211" dir=in action=allow protocol=UDP localport=8211

Paste the above codes in Windows PowerShell (run it as administrator) and press enter, after doing so remember your Local IP is used by the host to join the server, and the public IP is used for your friends to join (Local IPv4:8211 is for you Public IPv4:8211 is for your friends)

I hope my explanation is clear, I solved the problem by doing this.

I posted this earlier
Is this for the regular multiplayer or for a dedicated server?
just refund.
I have been able to log into my friends dedicated server but get connection timeout error after a short time and get disconnected, then have to wait for a few minutes before I am able to get back on again, and this just repeats

been 3 days, and I can't join friend's world that I've been playing with since release. he's host. Have tried joining other friends in their world, and cannot join them, and i've tried hosting, and they can't join me.

this is really frustrating.

Desktop. what seemed to work for me, was uninstalling the game, and reinstalling, and it let me join the friends world I was playing in.

May not work for you, but it worked for me.

My sons and I were having this issue. When I sent them the code and they copied and pasted, it always timed out, however, when they typed they code in, it always worked. Not sure if we are just lucky or not, but that is how we got around it.
So I've set up a dedicated server on an old desktop in my home. My friends are getting a timeout when trying to connect. I've set up port forwarding and made firewall exceptions for the two ports recommended above but still no luck. Any other ideas?
Have each person experiencing a connection time out double check their PC’s Date and Time. A custom time can cause this issue.
