Pals with mining lv 2 can mine ore nodes, as far as I can tell.

Nope, unfortunately.

I put a chest next to both the pal booths in both bases. So when I pick up ore that stops me from moving, I turn, teleport to the main base and drop it immediately in the storage.

Digtoise. It seems really bad at actually mining ore deposits despite having a high mining skill.

I have tried throwing pals with mining2 on Ore deposits and they do not mine them.

Are you sure that the pal doesn't have a special skill?

There a lot of them, just look at their stats? the mining pick.
Only thing is that when u use a lot of palls who have multiple skills i is chaos, and they often all do other things then and no one goes to the ore :)

Find one with only mining, llike the big purple reindeer as an example.

Reptyro will auto gather ore they're pretty common in the volcano on the right side of the map

Look at the pal in your palbox, it has little icons for each skill it can do. Some have several, like that green monkey one I forget the name.

Not all miners mine ore. Lv1 only do stone. Lv2 is required for ore.

Pals have to be mining level 2 at minimum for them to even try to mine ore deposits.

At least that's what i've observed after establishing my second base around multiple ore deposits.

Tomorrow i'll be catching a bunch of tombats and penkings for my mining squad.

I'm still low level and can't go for anything else and my lone tombat is desperate for help lol.
