Problem with building mechanic.
You need at least 1 [Foundation] to build pretty much anything else, and as for the roof, you can only extend up to 1 more tile, otherwise you get 'Lacking Support' error.

This makes building a bridge plain impossible if it's more than 1 tile away from nearest flat land (which is why it's called a bridge from the first place).

The collision detection is also highly dependent to the 'hierarchy' of building. The hierarchy consists of [Foundation]>[Wall]>[Roof]>[Stairs]. There needs to be [Roof] first, otherwise you cannot snap [Stairs] for the 2nd floor, it will say something like 'missing structure'. This means you cannot build stairs to go uphill UNLESS you build a [Roof] first or a [Foundation] above, which is not possible since hills are usually uneven.
Another case would be if you build a [Stairs] and then you delete 1 wall, if you want to rebuild the [Wall], it will cause 'structure overlap' error. The only way to fix this is to simply delete the [Stairs], build a [Wall], then the [Stairs].

The only way to build a bridge is simply making 2 separate [Foundation]s from each sides, then build at least 2 [Wall]s, put a [Roof] as a 'Pseudo-foundation' in front of each [Foundation], and hopefully both ends align to each other. But this most likely will cause problem to Pal's path-finding Since there WILL be tiny gap in the middle of the bridge (you cannot overlap each end of the bridge since it will cause 'overlap' error.

My suggestion is to make each type of building independent of the hierarchy. Instead, any type of building that is built first will enable the next part to snap. Just like CRAFTOPIA, for reference.

I'm unsure what you mean by this, I tried doing this and when you delete the wall/triangle everything collapses

That has not been my experience. I've never seen this 'Lacking Support' error, in fact, even after building a roof on top of a three story 6x8 house. Yes, getting the roof placed was annoying because of all the extra walls I had to build to place it, but removing the walls had no effect on whether the roof stayed where it was.

I'm seeing the same behavior as OP, lack of support.

Building a temporary support works, but when deleting the wall/triangle/foundations then the part is removed.

OP are you playing on a dedicated server? i am and i wonder if that's a diference

Lacking support occurs when you try to build too much on top of something that doesn't have direct support all of the way to a foundation. I've run into it many times when trying to get too clever with the build.

You can also snap stars to the side of a wall for what it's worth. If you ask me, the real problems with these building system are these:

1. Lower-floor furnishings of a certain height want to snap to the next floor up unless you're standing outside, off of the foundation.

2. No pillars.
