how to order pals to do the work which i need

you check each pal in their stats page and look at the colored icons, which indicate what jobs they can do (like the watering can for water and the stack of logs for cutting wood and such). your pal should automatically start doing whatever work they can do that's available. if you're talking about when they're off doing something else or slacking off and you want to force them on a specific task, then you walk up to them and hit whatever button prompt it is to pick them up, and use that same button to toss them towards the job you want them to do.

Make sure it's something the pal can actually do. Not all pals can do all tasks. Check the little icons on the pal, like the leaf, the water, the lightning, the fence etc, to see what they are capable of doing. If you need one of them to do a specific thing, and it can do it, get next to it, pick it up (F with keyboard) and then throw it at the station you need filled. A pop should say either assigned or something like nothing close auto fulfilling and in which case you'll need to throw it again.

if they are assigned to your base, walk up to them and pick them up with "F" and throw them at what you want them to work on. If it's a Pal in your inventory, throw their ball at what you want them to work on.
