So devs never finsished their last survival game before starting Palworld?
Isn't that a major red flag to anyone else????

Devs what makes palworld different that you'll continue support for it?

I was actually discussing this last night with my partner and our friend. Our friend had concerns that Craftopia wasn't ever finished and if this game would meet the same fate. We've decided to keep an eye out instead of jumping right in.

totally agree. This company has a horrible track history. They spent all their budget on advertising

Same. I will play the pirated version first before buying the game.

Their previous game had a peak of 27k players.... wich dropped very fast.
It was a niche game for a niche playerbase that quickly declined.

Also, We live in times where 'most' people dont play games much longer than a few months to a year, due to the overwhelming amounts of games being released.

If a game costs only 30 dollar and more then 600.000 players are playing on steam aolone the fisrt day, it should be a sign that this is not a bad game and no brainer to play if you like the genre, not a "concern".

But hey, you do what you do making these useless threads that at least 50 peeps before you did, and i wil finnish my morning coffee and dive in again for the rest of my free saturday!

Enjoy YOUR games!
Craftopia obviously was Dead on Arrival. This game is a success. This means they now have sufficient source of income to further develop both games without worrying about going bankrupt. Sometimes this happens. Sometimes your game is just not hitting, not releasing at the right time, and so on. This was a good move for them because this game is way better than their other game.

Now if they fail to continue work on the old game, then I could see a reason to complain. That would be like Fortnite Save The World essentially being canceled and given up on when Battle Royale was a success, even though their entire company only made it that far from those supporting their original game. You might say Save The World still exists, however I see no major updates to it in half a decade, and I call that dead.

Both games are developed and published by Poketpair. You could say different development teams, but it's ultimately still Pocketpair who decides what the developers get paid to do.

they can finish it if they just adding content like usual, but nope they redo their game with seamless open world stuff. so yeah they scrap the original island hoping adventure concept and change it into full blown giant open world survival.

Even if they're from the same company, putting more/all your resources into Palworld after seeing that there's way more demand for it is just smart though.

Happened with Unreal Tournament's team too when Fortnite got big, seriously bummed me out though.

I've been in the camp of those that find this a bit alarming, if not a lot to say the least. However, after having played Craftopia and now playing this today for close to 12 hours, this inevitable thought came to mind: "Palworld is infinitely a FAR superior game that rather than trying to be too much at once, is the right level of great, and if I was them, I would've dropped Craftopia to focus on this too."

And the reason is simple, Craftopia is, while impressive in it's own right, a bit too excessive in everything that it aims to be.

Last, if I was told that I paid Craftopia to be the cradle for the idea and blueprint that would then create Palworld? Well, I'm perfectly fine with having paid 30$ twice. Because, once again, Palworld is infinitely better. Not perfect, just in a completely different league than the studio's previous project.

Over 3 years of EA is enough reason to complain. EA isn't for funding other games you want to make.
