Pals all depressed and starving after relog
Hi, so my base pals are all depressed, starving and with ulcers after leaving my dedicated server running overnight. Apparently they just don't eat while you're offline, but their stats still go down? There was plenty of food for them in their feeding trough thing.

I also think that raids happen even if you are not on or in the base which must be wrong too. I have constantly knocked out Pals which does not happen due to starving but only fighting. I turned off the raid mechanic for now and will observate. Might also relate to the problems.

This bug should have been patched day 1 imo.

This game has more Bugs than ya dog does on a hot sunny day

Pals seem to "finish what they do" when players leave the area (or the server) and don't go for the next activity.

So they basicaly : finish digging that rock; finish eating, or finish cutting a thing / a craft queue / a melting of iron.

Then they pause forever until someone laod them again.

The issue is that their status bars continue to drain, so they starve, are asleep, lack the shower and other break moments... So when you come back they explode and became depressed, ko and a lot of funny status.

I agree this is a very hot bug that makes me want to stop until fixed. It hard to play day to day when your pals are hungry and depressed. You know how many horns you have to farm to get all your pals undepressed. 5 each not to mention the long crafting time it take to create the medicine to help them out 5 horns each every day you log on and a couple hours of crafting time to get them all healed... Hopefully they fix this soon.

I guess the only workaround for now is to put everything back in the box when you log. Which is annoying, but will stop that crap.
That kinda deny the whole point of dedicated server. We made one because we want the pals to keep working when we get back and get all that resources. :(

The point of a dedicated server is to have a machine that doesn't have to run the entire game but can still host a server. That doesn't necessarily mean that game time needs to advance when nobody is connected. Valheim's dedicated server, for example, pauses when nobody is on the server.

it only happens if the server is laggy and had to reboot, i played on a stable server and the whole night i had 100 berry but the next day i had over 2k. but than the server restarted and all the pals were stuck at the middle and they were starving. so this is def an issue with server rebooting.

I haven't found documentation but from what i understand,
Non login penality is a delay for decaying building hp when a player don't log for long.
while player exist after logout is exactly what it sound; Does the player character actually "stay" in world (like in rust, ark, etc), or just disapear in thin air and reapear at next login^^

This is what I am doing as well. I have all my workers depressed now. I even tested it the other night. Gave medicine to one. Logged off in the evening. When I logged back on all the pals were near the Palbox then started doing stuff. The one I healed was depressed again. So now, until it's fixed, I put all Pals in the box when logging off.

I've been putting all my "good" workers in the box for now, like robinquill, bushi, tombat. I don't mind if my cattiva, pengullet, or tanzee and such are weakened/depressed, but if my really good pals are going to be depressed, it's a big issue, so I put all of the good ones in the box and let grunts do the work and get depressed bc Ik I'm getting rid of them eventually anyways. I made a box at the end full of replacement workers, and the box next to it is my good workers/backup good workers so I can cycle through easily and use the bad ones offline. They still get everything done too, just not as efficient.

Hell, if you wanted to, you could take out everyone and leave 10 lamballs to get hella wool when you log back in. At least you're getting something, right? And who cares if those get weakened, just replace them! You even get wool for butchering them lol

I can't think of a dedicated server for a game that runs the simulation with no one connected.
