Otherwise you may as well just have everyone do everything anyway
Edit: I also no longer keep the cooler in the house due to trying to assign it and if another bench or something was above or in next room it, for whatever reason, would try to assign to that and not be compatible. Glad XB got much needed updates but we need some love too soon
I also threw him at the cooler so its the main task, and since they cant open doors hes always cooling it.
The best method is to just find pals with exclusive work types when it gets to much. I use a currently lvl 3 waterer (only water) but you can do less cuz water is such a highly needed task they will always be busy, milling or planting. Best to avoid pals with the water stat. Ice foxes and the little jolthog ice versions are the vest for coolers. I'd suggest not trying to call all of your food and only the good stuff, like wheat, eggs, milk and more rare foods. Because it decays slow enough if you make a large stack it'll be fine.
I did have issues with the bigger fridge and pals not wanting to work at it, but the smaller fridge should work.
It's possible and idk for sure, but likely that the bigger fridge requires a higher cooling stat, the metal pres for example need a minimum of 2, so the fridge may as well, on a small ice mountain there is some larger 3 tailed ice foxes that have only a 2 in cooling no other Stats named "Foxcicle"
The real problem (imho) is that it runs off of AI at all. There needs to be an assignment menu for job-related objects. This way, there is no confusion as to what job each summoned pal should be doing. A manual assignment would be cleaner and allow you to spend less time worrying about Pals at base so that you can focus your attention elsewhere.
IMO, the refrigerator should cool things automatically since it requires electricity to maintain.
I just gave up on bothering with food other than jam filled buns and baked berries for feeding me and my pals. The others just don't keep long enough to feel worth trying to make: 20 minutes just ain't long enough for how long they take the cook unless you have a level 4 kindler, not to mention time taken to go out and gather the ingredients. I just use a ranch-oriented base for breeding farms, having all the ingredients locally made for cakes and leave them in the pot until I need them.
It worked before the latest update and now it doesn't which is annoying.
Have you set your cooling pals to only mind the fridge and not do other base functions?
Can your cooling pals reach the designated fridge to cool?
