Ancient Fragment

Hope someone can help, I defeated the first boss and apparently received 5 x Ancient Fragments, but it doesn't show up in my Inventory? Am I missing something?

ancient frags are for research in your tech tree. the purple area on the right in that tab.

Can also see how many you have at the bottom next to your tech points.
