Anyone else dissapointed?
It's an Arc Survival game with some monsters you can capture but can't evolve. I have a mix feeling about the game itself.

Yeah, I just played it (Game Pass) and I wasn't a fan lmao. I was critical of Scarlet and Violet here and there but I honestly had way more fun with that than I did this. But it might just be that I'm not a fan of open world survival crafting games anymore.

It's fine to like it and open world survival crafting games, nothing wrong with that, but saying this is better than Pokemon because "LAZY GAME FREAK NINTENDO HIRE THIS MAN" makes me believe you're less interested in this game and more interested in being a contrarian. That or you're still mad about the dex cuts.

Try the game out on vanilla settings sometime. You might have a different experience.
It's wild that people try the game for the first time on boosted settings or use some sort of mod/cheats, then come to the forums to complain about progression in the game. Like yea, you cheated your way through it, of course it's boring that way.

This game is a breath of fresh air after coming from a game like Ark. Breeding was literally doable within the time frame that I intended to play the game, and not days on end like in Ark. Resource grind isn't as extreme either. And the silliness of the Pals gives me a chuckle every once in a while. Pal ai needs work, but I absolutely intend to have my base filled only with Luckies and boss Pals. Their size is ridiculous, and it's crazy to me that people are trying to complain the uniqueness of this game away.

Got it to play with friends, gave it a try. Played on a boosted server so we could experience a lot of the content. Was exactly what I thought it would be. Really fun at first, but with no staying power/lack of late game content. There's just nothing to do at a certain point.

Capture pals - for what? Bosses? Okay. Beat the bosses - for what? Some points to unlock more things to craft. For what purpose? Everything you do leads to a void of ... pointless. I thought going into this game it'd have a 1-2 month shelf life of being super popular and then plateau off a cliff and it's trending that way.

It's EA and I'm sure they'll try to keep people coming back, but I'm not really sure what they can do. More pals? Okay..... PvP? Okay.... but that will drive away their main player base right now that just likes to PvE and mess around. They made a lot of money, kudos to them. I'm not sure where this game goes from here, though.
Your experience might be influenced with that "played on a boosted server" part. This game isn't a procgen base builder like Minecraft or Terraria where skipping material tiers just cuts out busy work: It has a static map with pals laid out in intentionally designed patterns at specified level ranges to guide progression. Part of the experience is building your base and training your pals while catching new ones with your limited arsenal so you can get more materials, upgrade your base, catch more pals, etc. Getting a flier in your first hour isn't going to leave you with much reason to catch pals. Getting the best spheres immediately gives you no incentive to explore and build up capture power points. Beating bosses quickly leaves you with no reason left to care about training your pals. There's a reason why people complain about games being "too easy." Try the game out on vanilla settings sometime. You might have a different experience.

And what's the incentive to grind? End game content? PvP? Nope... There's no reason to grind. That's the problem. There's just nothing to do after a certain point. I'm not going to grind for the sake of grinding.

I feel like either people are being dumb on purpose just for funsies or they legit don't know what early access is.

The incentive is that you find the grind enjoyable and want to capture/see all the Pals :V

Or just want want everything 10/10'd and maxed out, depends.

Nope, not disappointed at all, already had enough fun for the purchase to be worth it while I see it having a ton of potential with further development and modding.
