Dedicated Server Setup Issues
Having some trouble setting up a server for me and my friends. I am using the default settings in the ini, only having changed the server name and password, and I have port forwarding enabled, but it's not showing up when I launch it as a community server. Does anyone have any idea what to do from here?

can you connect locally using the automatic ip at the bottom and if you do and the world name is what is not set to when you look at it by hitting escape, im in the same boat as you. Else wise idk.

If I take the password off I can connect locally, but that doesn't help with other people joining lol

Go to your game panel and stop the server
Go to Configuration Filles, edit Start.bat file, and be sure the Community Server option is enabled
Go to Configuration Files, edit the PalWorldSettings.ini file, and define a nice and unique name
Start your server and wait a few minutes to go online
Open the Palworld game and go to the Join Multiplayer Game menu
Click on the Community Servers tab and search for your server name on the top search box

I'm not showing a start.bat file anywhere. I'm doing it from the steam tool.

Apparently, there is an issue with the steam tool. Trying to create one through steamCMD now.

im having a similar issue trying to launch a dedicated server, i just get a black screen. could this be related?

So I've had some success using the Steam Tools version of the server, all I did was start it using the steam launcher as a dedicated server, then use my loopback address to connect myself to it (since I'm running it from the same machine I'm playing on) then had others connect using my IP address plus the port number. No password set, and didn't have any unexpected people joining,

The dedicated server part is broken, first avoid using a custom port, it probably won't work, and if you use a custom IP, make sure your main gateway is not firewalled on the default 8211 port as well. In fact avoid using a custom IP/port, it is fully broken.

As for finding it in the community server list, this part is broken as well, you need to search like 50 times
Go to community servers, input your server name, click search. Can't find? Then do:
Click community servers, click search again, repeat.

At least once you have it in "recent servers" (after connecting once), you don't need to search for it anymore.

It seems to save the Admin settings intpo the world when you run the server. I tested chaging world saves and password changed with each world save. If you did not set admin in the defaultSettings.ini file before running PalworldDedicatedServer it will write no password for that world and you may have to wipe and start again or uninstall the PalworldDedicatedserver, reinstall , set the DefaultPalworldSettings file, run server again. Also have to change RCONEnabled=False to RCONEnabled=True to use admin commands. Copy the DefaultPalworldSettings.ini file to another locationand change to PalworldSettings.ini and after running PalworldDedicatedServer once, stop the server and replace "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldSettings.ini" with the sopied file. Start server, join server and hit enter and type /AdminPassword YourPasswordHere and it hsould say password correct you are now admin. Use /save to manually save. Also recommended to create your own backup folder to backup the save files to just in case. Hope this helps people.

could you not just take your current save files, copy and paste them somewhere for safe keeping then do all of this then bring your saves back in and not have to worry about wiping to do all of this? Asking because none of my server settings ini changes do anything including admin password, server name, all of it?

HomeSlice saved w/ "Go to your game panel and stop the server" cause the ini saves the last loaded config to the ini and kept setting it back. TY!
