Dedicated Servers suck
I'd rather have 4 player P2P than hurt my head trying to figure out how to setup my own server just to play with my friends T_T.

you can? just hit start game, create a singleplayer world, turn the coop button on. tell your friend the code and let them join via steam.
But i feel you. me and a friend of mine are trying to setup a server since 6 hours

Then do it? You have the option of 4 player MP doing peer to peer or 32 player MP dedicated server.
its more confusing than it really is, how are you trying to setup the server, steamcmd or in steam itself. I used steam command and the only confusing part was editing the settings file for the server since it requires you to copy and paste the content of another file into it to then change the settings. Not to mention the server console window displays no information. Once you do the settings if the console window is open for the pal world server, then try connecting to the server, if it is local for you, you need to use the local IP address of the server and your friends use your public IP. Make sure to port forward and keep the port number after the IP when joining in game, so example 127.0.0.1:8211.

When you start the world, you have the ability to enable the co-op feature (up to 4) - downside, only can be played when host is online/hosting the game.
So if you want 24/7, a dedicated is the way to go, otherwise scheduling times is the only other way. >~<

hahaha! just tried it - also doesn't work.

When i click on "accept", it tells me: "check your internet connection - a restart could help"
(oc i allready did all of that)

EDIT: I tried it five more times and now i was able to create a singleplayer/coop game :)

I have a separate server, started up the dedicated palworld server program on it, then tried to start up the game on my gaming PC and it said it would disconnect the other "game" even though it's supposed to be a server. Seems like a mistake, because I've definitely used this solution for Valheim and Don't Starve Together. I shouldn't need an additional license. You need to be able to run the server on a different PC with the same steam account.

I see it works for some and not others, I'm not entirely surprised considering it's day 1 of their early access release. They're probably getting swamped with downloads, this game became a huge hit pretty well overnight because of them giving access to content creators a few days early. I've been waiting like a year for this game, was nice to see it lived up to my expectations before I even bought it though.

Restart Steam and Game worked for me
Missed this but yeah haven't been able to set it up, but like I said it's just a case of not being smart enough to understand all this ♥♥♥♥. Even when I'm attempting to follow a Reddit guide I found in the guides here, I'm exploring my router menu and can't figure out to port forward

Anyway when I'd try to create a world then flick on multiplayer, it's just like "Yeah get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerd, restart your router/computer." Silver lining is I didn't know Palworld was gonna have multiplayer so my enjoyment of the game isn't hinged upon it, but I wish it was easy and painless like many other Steam games. Even it being an early access game doesn't excuse it since Raft was and Raft I had 0 issues with multiplayer for instance.
Nvm it works now. Guess it was just acting up in the beginning, was able to launch a multiplayer game and play with friends.
