SOLUTION FOR BEING STUCK AT LOADING SCREEN
If your joining a dedicated server and stuck on a loading, the host running the server NEEDS TO DELETE YOUR CHARACTER FILE.

Reason being that it may be corrupted. Now that my file is gone im able to join and everything works. YOU WILL LOSE ALL PROGRESS ON THAT CHARACTER. Levels. Items. Pals.

Alright so me and my friends figured out how to delete the specific player save data on dedicated servers through trial and error
NOTE: Yes, you will lose all your items and pals in boxes, but the map will stay the same

First of all make a backup of the 'players' save data folder in 'Pal' folder > Saved > SaveGames > 0 > (Random string of numbers and letters) > Players

Second, Delete all the files in players

Now anyone who logs in will be prompted to create a new character, let the corrupted file players who couldn't log in to the servers before create new characters, they should be able to get in now

now you can stop the server and check the saves that were created, now you know their save ID and can cross-reference and delete their corrupted data from the back up files you made, then you can drop back in the backed up saves.

It's not the best solution but hey at least our friend can log into the server now, you can probably jack up rates or players that still have their progress can boost them by giving a boat load of pal balls for them to go on an exp catching spree

You generally can't. Some people have said their infinite loading screen glitch eventually fixed itself after a server reset or something. But if you're hit with the worst version of the glitch, the problem will never fix itself no matter what you do.

Only thing people can do is wait for the fix.

YEah so this isn't a Corrupted player save issue.

The issue is with the game itself. While yes, deleting the player save lets them back in, they are not able to originally because of what looks like a network caching issue.

There is no resolution, but you can try restarting multipul times to see if it lets those with the problem back in, HOWEVER in doing this, others potentially will start having the issue. Restarts have a 50/50 chance of fixing and/or causing the issue.

My server has had this issue with several players, me (Owner) included, restarting fixed it for me and others, while others still had the issue, and some got the issue after restart. Restarting again, fixed it for others that started having the issue or had the issue. Those who where fixed, had the issue again in some cases.

IT IS NOT A CORRUPTED PLAYER DATA FILE ISSUE

Hey we're having the same issue with our server. Are you guys using a server from g-portal or is this your own server?

To expand on this:
There's a way to recover almost everything except the player level and stats. Unlocks, tech points, pals etc are kept.

First you make a backup of the corrupt save.

Now you can use https://gist.github.com/cheahjs/300239464dd84fe6902893b6b9250fd0 to convert the save files to json.

Now you delete the corrupt files from the server and determine which player belongs to which save file. Ask them to log back in and create a new character.

Now download those new files and also convert them to json.

In the save file json there is a field called "InstanceId" within this there's a Guid, copy the Guid from the NEW save file to the old one.

After this convert the files back to the sav format and upload the old save files with the modified Guid.

After the server starts again the players should be able to join and they should have everything they had before except that the player is back at level 1.
The only real issue I've seen is that the players show up without a name in the guild menu. But this can be fixed by kicking them and having them rejoin.

I always run Steam as Administrator, and if a game starts glitching I set that to run as Administrator too. Then if that doesn't work I validate the files. None of this has worked and since it's happening on an Official server I just hope they can do a rollback or otherwise do something to fix the issue.

This worked phenomenally to fix 7 players saves. 10/10

Thanks Izumemori! You saved my players!
Aggermor Jan 22, 2024 @ 8:51pm
SOLVED! Deleting the player's save file worked for me. We were able to determine the corrupted players file by the least modified date. Also make sure to shut down the server then create a backup of the player files before deleting in case you delete the wrong player. Also create backups every now and then in case this happens again you don't need a full wipe

is it possible for you to show me how to do this, maybe through discord call? I'm trying to do this but when I drag the file into the .bat nothing happens. It says that it's going to convert to json then I say yes then nothing changes.
