Dismantling a Base

Does anyone know what happens when you dismantle a Base, you have the option from the map, what happens to everything we have build, is it going to be lost? I'm a little bit scared of trying in out, figure I'd ask here to see if anyone has tried it,
since my first base sucks, and some of the Pals keep getting stuck becasue I build it in the worst place! I wanne redo it on a different spot.

Perhaps better to just level up your first base enough that you get a second slot, so you can fast-travel back and forth to dismantle things in the first base, then rebuild it in the second one.

If you've built your base close to a fast travel point though, you shouldn't need an extra slot in that case. Just dismantle then hop back and forth a bit, make sure to put a good few levels into your carrying capacity so you can carry things easily, maybe have a couple chests at the new base site to dump the raw, heavy resources into from dismantling stuff, then build it all later when the now-dismantled base is done with.

This. Exactly what I did, because like an idiot I built my first base somewhere too small, so I had to move to a larger space. Too much trouble to gather the resources to build a second copy of everything, far too much weight to dismantle a whole base and carry it over, so it involved a lot of fast travel trips back and forth.

When attempting to dismantle from the map, you are greeted with a notice that states;
Note: Structures not placeable outside of base will be disassembled.
Note: Some structures will not be disassembled and will remain.
Note: All pals at this base will be stored in your palbox
Note: Doing this will not cause any of your pals to disappear.

It should be noted that you can still loot the remaining structures. You can then dismantle anything that is remaining to receive materials back.

I did it folks. all your chest and beds and all that just stay there but begin to detoriate.

Do we get resources back? Where do those resources go?

The resources from the Palbox itself go into your inventory, so you can immediately make the new one. Any structures that are destroyed in the process get dropped where they were and need to be recovered.

don't get resources back, the structures you built at that base just stay there, and it's hard to put the palbox back in the spot it was because it says it's too close to things. It's a big mistake if you want to keep all that building material.
