but yeah its definitely not balanced for single player/coop, 72hrs on the rarest eggs is pretty much over half a full playthrough, you'll pretty much have to tick down the incubation time for hard mode in solo/coop mode
it's worth noting that the hard mode incubation time is also the default incubation time for servers, so it's pretty clear it was intended to be used in a server setting
I'll also note myself that hard mode seems to be the default for "custom" difficulties,
It actually defaults to whatever difficulty you had selected before clicking custom.
Normal is 2h, Hard is 72h.
Just go custom and changes those absurd grindy gate.
That is VERY weird. You'd think it'd default to normal. Very counterintuitive, and lead to a very bad first experience in my case where I just kept getting beaten up by chickens.
A huge egg will still take a day and a half of playtime at least. That effectively means it'll never hatch on hard.
For a regular egg the temperature difference means it'll hatch in 3 hours instead of 6.
