Same.Clipping/Grid to turn on/off would be real nice
I build staircases around the foundations of my base so they clip into the ground (miking it look like steps to a raised platform, but in order to continue pathing (again, using foundations) one has to:
- Get as close as possible to the last step showing above ground without clip detection.
- Get as near perfect as possible on along the parallel
- Hope that your placing is accurate enough to not clip detect the build.
I recently expanded the courtyard on my base, and it's clip detecting the last two foundations, so I can not place them :(
A toggle for clipping would put an end to this problem, and another for disabling snap would also be a great addition. [Control] and [Shift] are currently used to toggle food stacks (take half, and take 1) so this would work.
Right now, foundation only snaps to other foundation. This means if you build stairs up a cliff, you can't have them attach to foundations on both the top and bottom of it.
Since you can only build within 2 tiles from foundation (horizontally), this limits how big you can make anything that isn't over completely flat land.
