You can't with just the game, but I believe Nucleus Co-op is working on making it split-screen.

Nucleus coop works, yeah.

It works by running several instances of the game, spoofing the steam API, and attaching the controllers to each window. You can use it with either having one player be host and the other connecting, or with a dedicated server, but I didn't get the latter to work.

It can be a little unstable, sometimes I need to start it up a few times before all the controllers work. I'd give detailed instructions, but since nucleus will require a little time and patience anyway, I leave it as an excersize to the reader.

There's guides on steam in case you would like to use mouse and keyboard in one of the windows instead of all controllers.
