Holding down F key to craft?

Am I missing something or doing something wrong? In order to craft you have to hold the F key down? I was cooking a few berries and it took me about ten minutes of holding down the F key to cook 20 plus berries, I literally held the F key down and stared at my screen for ten minutes. That can't be right, is there an auto craft button im missing somewhere?

Try finding a pal with the "kindling" trait, as it says above the fire, and throw him at it while something needs to be cooked.

Really need "Press F instead of Hold F" Setting in the future.
There are a lot of buildings/gears need a lot of times to build/craft,
even with pals working together.

Beyond the pals you can also upgrade yourself to do it faster.

Um yes, like 10 minutes into the game you learn how to catch a Pal who will work for you. This is one of those cases where if you just play the game you'll get your answers. Not sure why people need everything explained to the, go play the game, discover it, its in the first 10 minutes.

The Pal skills come in 5 tiers though (IIRC); so you're prolly only using skill tier 1 crafting Pals in which case it DOES take a long time for some stuff but keep on exploring and you'll find higher skilled Pals soon enough...
No clue if breeding allows you to create super skilled worker pals though (I'm not that far into the game yet)

Have you tried cooking a steak yet? put 5 of those in qeue and have fun working your 9-to-5 for the next week waiting for it to complete... that stuff takes crazy long to finish 1 portion off

Pals exist, they press F for you. This is why you automate...

Y'all still holding F to do stuff? The base Pals take care of all that for me and even when I craft buildings I just throw out a party Pal to do it while I focus on something else. Automation is the name of the game, kinda like in Satisfactory

If you don't want to swap Pals out all the time, if you have a Pal in your party you can throw them out at the campfire and they will work on it as well, you can always have your base Pal limit +1

The game is designed around having pals help you in your base. This encourages you to find new pals, etc. For cooking, you'll need a pal with kindling (fire). If they made it a toggle or instant, then base building and progression would be kind of pointless. As much as everyone compares this to other monster games, it's not really like them that much... It's far more survival than just run around and catch things.

I just give up, and let them finish the jobs. Meanwhile I will go exploring the map. I'm not going to stand there and watching them do the things just like a... well you know what I mean.
Just annoying that SOME ACTIONS like the egg hatchers still need holding F to open it & PALs won't do them for me. WHILE PEOPLE KEEP TELLING ME TO USE PALS FFS
