Is this game online only?
Do I need to connect to a main server every time I play, or can I have my own world that is still playable when I have no internet as well?

It has single player but Ive seen posts saying that you have to be online to start it up

Just tried on my Deck 100% offline (Offline Mode + wifi disabled). Game starts just fine. You'll get a login error, but you can just skip past that and start the game.
