says cant overlap almost everywhere on stuff and you have to try jiggle it to blue in a wide open area annoying af

pals can get in the way and block the building from being placed especially if you have one out at the time.

As Rhino said, I cant build a peaked roof on my base apparently, thats the only building part that has caught my attention, perhaps Im just doing it wrong.

yh and no these days its just something they say to justify something a broken game or bug. but i do understand e a games have bugs just one like this is dumb

Sounds like you should just avoid Early Access games then... expecting everything in ea to work as intended is dumb.

That part can be tricky, but if you build a flat roof next to where you want to build the slope (it will look like an overhang) then you can place slope roofs easy. Then deconstruct the flat roof. It's a bit like fallout 4 in that sometimes you have to first place a part next to where you want to actually build to get it to snap.

Hopefully will be fixed by devs, but this is a decent workaround for now.

Also, building a roof is a pain. It doesn't snap to existing walls/other roof pieces. Have to place a roof down first (next to a wall) and then another piece on top of it to build a actual roof piece. Also no corner pieces. It's pretty bare bones currently. Maybe it gets better.

I know it is early access, but I just wanted to mention it says overlap when I try to add stairs infront of the door of my house and wont let me place one

late but ill post in case anyone else searches this thread, i struggled with angled rooftop pieces also, try putting a piece where it clicks on the ground and then using that piece to click it to the roof where you want it to be
the roof pieces funnily enough are very adamant about not being roof pieces but I'm sure you can force them if you mess around a bit
