These aren't subjective takes on copyright my guy, they are factual takes on it. Game is completely copyright safe, Nintendo has literally 0 case against it, and 0 reason to want to strike it down as well.

It's not parody just because you find that humorous. It literally needs to derive directly from Pokemon to be a parody from it, which it doesn't do.

Not to mention, you provided so much evidence of how it was not derivative for me because you didn't understand what derivative meant.
All the things I listed can be sighted in the very first episode of pokemon cartoon.

Yea that doesn't make anything derivative. Game's not trying to be Pokemon to be a parody, that's the problem. It's just using the gameplay mechanics, using gameplay mechanics doesn't make you a parody. Call of Duty isn't a parody of Medal of Honor, Fortnite is not a parody of PUBG.

Still, you could probably make a case in court I guess that it is parody in a legal emergency but you're like, not gunna be put in that scenario with this game.

Dude, if you are speaking about GAMEPLAY it has nothing in common with pokemon. Actual Pokemon games don't allow you to beat pokemons with your fists and then cook them.

I am speaking strictly about setting.

Nintendo killed the dolphin emulator release on Steam before it ever came out here.

If they were going to do something about this game they would've done it before it even came out.

Even the setting yes. It's just not derivative enough to be a parody. It needs to take far more from Pokemon than it does.

What exactly can it take from Pokemon? It's not like it's super rich in situations. The main point of parody is how pokemons are actually slaves, gladiators and unpaid laborers. It touches main setting as close as possible.

The actual Pokemon, the trainers, the towns (like the specific towns), specific locations, gyms, etc. All Palworld is doing is making something similar to Pokemon in some ways. That doesn't grant it to being a parody, at least not of Pokemon itself. Looking at how PETA does it, even though gross its PETA, but it is a good example of how to parody.

Maybe another more apt way to put it: if Palworld were making a parody (of Pokemon), the game would actually feel like it's violating Pokemon's copyright a bit

The issue I've seen is that this game is 100% taking models from Pokemon. Maybe they've added enough bells and whistles to make them different enough but I could see Gamefreak having an issue with it because the game is being charged for. Temtem etc were nowhere near as blant with ripping off as this game.

They are not taking models from Pokemon. People who don't understand how to even make models are making those claims, they are dumb and completely unfounded.

Don't make claims about topics you do not understand.

unless the pals are copy pasted or have the same name like pikachu then it ha nothing to do with copy right. same goes for audio. Think more along the line of dmca as a tldr of copyright infringement

Either way, if you're playing a game that is this obviously a rip off and feel no concern or any form of shame I'm not really sure how much lower your standards could get.

It's actually just that your standards of what a ripoff is are so low. They would apply to Pokemon too, and honestly any game you ever played. It's not really a dig at anyone's esteem so much as a lack of your own understanding.

I can also see you're a zero level account, so, you can just give up the game at this point.

I've seen this claim, yet to see real evidence of it. And by that I don't mean someone taking a picture of a monster in this game and saying it has x part of y pokemon or is the whole model of z pokemon without even showing the Pokemon they're talking about.

Let alone using editing software to layer the two models and switch back and forth to show how it's "the same". It's just people saying it and expecting you to believe it.

There are certainly a lot of design element similarities, but you can easily draw Pokemon style eyes for example without actually tracing them. It's not like Pokemon have complex designs. The good ones are usually pretty simple.

I'd love the people making these claims to put actual effort into proving it.
