You can host your own, pay for a 3rd party, or use the "Official servers" which will likely act as the free dedicated servers. But I'm not sure if we have too much info on what those will look like
i know crossplay won't be available for tomorrow.
maybe there will be a setting in the server if it will host for steam/xbox server?
from my experience in craftopia, they doesn't work. dedicated only for steam version.
it has been a long time since i play craftopia though. idk if they can crossplay/server or not.
Seeing as servers are expensive and the limitations they've already set for private servers: seems very unlikely.
They did, in their Palworld Early Access Launch FAQ.
[How does multiplayer work in Palworld?]
You can play Palworld with up to 3 friends by simply starting a multiplayer game and inviting them (4-player co-op). Beyond this, you can create a dedicated server, which will allow for up to 32 players to play in the same world and create guilds together. We will provide the tools to create these servers yourself at launch.
(There will also be official servers managed by us, or you can choose to host your own private ones)
they charge $1.10 per slot usd for most game
