Hangs on loading

Any time I die, which can be frustratingly often the game hangs on the loading screen

Can I ask whether you're playing the Steam or Gamepass version? Can I also have your PC Specs.

Is it hanging when entering/exiting certain areas, or all? How long are the hangs?

same here. Game sometime freezes when loading (both opening doors and on death). Disabling frame gen seems to help. My specs are 5700xt with latest drivers, win10, ryzen 3600, 1440p, high preset, fsr enabled

I have the same problem. When i want to enter the machine room (after the lower deck outside area) the screen turn black and nothing happens. I tried to lower the graphic details but it happen again. Specs: AMD Ryzen 5600X, Radeon 5650XT with latest drivers, win10, 1080p

It's a Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2022 (RX 6800S/6800 CPU/32GB ram) but I have found a workable solution and that is putting the game in borderless/windowed mode. Putting in full screen causes hang. Also I'm on the Steam version

I have the same issue. If I die I end up with black screen. I get black screens between levels too. I just entered the engineering and bang, black screen. The only way to move forward is to kill the game process.

I have Steam version, Win11, Ryzen 5800X3D, 32 GB of RAM and RTX3070.

This isn't the first game I've had this happen in, I do wonder if it could be a driver issue (I'm on the latest set of drivers but it did happen on the last set as well)

This happens to me too, turning off FSR3 Frame Generation and using Windowed Fullscreen circumvent the issue.

Same here with the loading/new area glitch; I have a 5800x3d, 7900xt and 32 gbs of ram. Having trouble getting my settings to not reset. Uninstalled and reinstalling now; hoping I can try the borderless fullscreen fix that was mentioned. Fingers crossed, game was ramping up! Gotta see what happens, been waiting to watch a play through cause I wanna experience the game initially for myself.

Damn no luck, it’s wild if I change a setting I don’t even have to leave the page. If I scroll down and scroll back up it’ll have already switched back to fullscreen. Tried every option it always snaps right back to full screen as soon as I scroll or leave the page. Never seen anything like it

Okay so if you’re having the problem I am, I found a solution. For whatever reason it will let me turn off frame gen. Turning that off fixes the problem(even if you’re stuck in full screen.)

I solved re-installing the game

Went out the door with red valve to get a sore touch from the boss man and the game just stays on a black screen, just frozen

For me It's removing FS3 that fixes the probleme. Frame gen maybe...

Disabling FSR3 should solve any black screen/loading hangs. We're investigating as to why FSR3 is causing this.

Turning off frame gen fixed the soft lock on Steam Deck
