Nobody can react here without that data.
Very good graphics btw. Don't be fooled by the small download size. Really like the setting and time period too. Nice game!
If you have the gamepass version you only have the TSR upscale and most people don't know how to use it properly.
The steam version has FSR3 and also DLSS too and easier to optimize settings.
So if you have the gamepass version you are stuck on only TSR for Upscale. Its not a bad upscale, you just need to know how to use it.
For low end gpu's you should be running at 1080P max selected in menu or 720P if needed
and also lower the resolution scale slider as needed. Put 3D Resolution slider down to 50%, put TSR quality down lower. Put settings on low/medium.
For Mid end gpu's you should be running at 1080P selected in the menu, set the settings on Medium for starters, set the 3D Resolution Slider down to 50-67%. I would try around 67-70% first it would be the equivalent to a "quality mode upscale". Don't go higher than this with a mid range gpu.
For High-very high end gpu's I would still recommend sticking with 1440p for UE5. Start with HIGH Presets First and check the TSR 3D Resolution and bump it down to around 67% for starters which is pretty much equal to "quality mode upscale".
How the heck is that even possible!? I mean - the game barely has anything happening on screen. I'm literally at the very start in the cabin. I'm shocked that a game like this can grind my rig to a halt. It's not Hellblade 2 or some other freshly released title that one expects to demand a huge amount to drive it.
Literally shocked. I was really looking forward to this.
Yeah I'm on Game Pass. Why the heck are the two versions not identical!??!!?
I appreciate the time - but I refuse to do any of this. I have a 4K monitor, 32GB of ram, an SSD and an i9.
I can run Hellblade 2. I can run Horizon Zero Dawn. I can run Alan Wake 2.
I am not turning down anything. It is CRAZY lazy incompetence from the devs' side that they haven't made sure the version on Game Pass is as good as the version on Steam!!!!
I was just trying to help as I do work with Ue5 as well on small projects. On epic and steam it allows the use of all Upscale. On gamepass version it only allows the built in Default UE upscale, the devs would need to totally recode / reblueprint everything just for the Gamepass version. I see quite a bit of games have this same problem on the Gamepass version, so its not the devs fault really.
Brother like I said - I DO appreciate you taking the time. I wasn't being disrespectful to YOU.
I'm just blown away by the fact that the devs of this game submitted two entirely different builds of the game to Steam and Game Pass. Why the heck is it not the same!?
And secondly - I shouldn't have to use any kind of Upscaling/DLSS or anything like that. My rig is way beyond what this game requires. I can run Alan Wake 2, Horizon, Hellblade 2 - which are all vastly more complicated than a section of a ship with crew quarters...
Sad stuff. I was looking forward to this one.
You have a good day.
EDIT: I have played countless title on Game Pass for PC - and with the one exception of Quantum Break - which has funky green and purple lights everywhere - I have never encountered this issue you're describing - and there have been PLENTY of Unreal titles on there - like Hellblade 2, HI-FI Rush, Ghostwire Tokyo...
Yeah, it's pretty insane to expect software developers to develop software in the current year.

Game Pass isn't free. It's a subscription - like Netflix.
Whether or not there is a 15 day delay or not - it doesn't change the fact that the build of the game for both platforms should be exactly the same at all times.
It's yet another example of lazy game developers in the modern age. No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk2077, Ubifail. It's all just lazy people.
