Does this game have a satisfying ending?
Hi, i'm just wondering if the ending is satisfactory. Obviously without any hints or spoilers please. I mean things like:
Does the ending (at least tries to) answer questions instead of raising new ones?
Does it not take the lazy writing way out of leaving everything open?

Thanks!

It sounds like you might just not like Lovecraftian horror.

You won't enjoy the ending, it's not a narrative flaw or "lazy", you just dislike the genre, which is perfectly fine. In the future I would avoid framing personal opinions as objective truths though.

Ok thanks, might get it at a lower cost point someday. I don't know anything about Lovecraftian horror, I didn't want to trigger anything by saying "lazy":).

The ending doesn't answer a lot, no and the ending is pretty depressive but i do like myself sometimes a bad ending.

the writing is actually pretty good and explains some things if you think deeply about the dialog which is really good.

The game doesn't have an ending. After a while, it just stops. There's what feels like it should be a crescendo, but then that's followed by some trippy visuals before rolling credits and bumping you back to the main menu.

Sure, you can imagine a really cool ending in your head if you go to the extra effort of... writing one yourself. But if it's an actual ending you're looking for, then this game doesn't have it.

It has an ending, but don't expect SOMA or Amnesia Rebirth caliber.
The writing in this game shines through the dialogues, not the drama or plot.

This is true. The character writing is quite good. The voice actors are really good, as well. The dialogue is honestly the best part of this game, and a legitimate reason to play through it at least once.

I havent read alot of lovecraft but so far none of the stories Ive read were a mystery box. Every aspect of the story got explained in detail in the end.

I constantly see the claim that "cosmic horror lives off not explaining the mystery" and it is simply not true. Still wakes the Deep still has excellent writing tho, but its cosmic horror aspects are very basic.
