Black Screen when I start the game

I have had this game open for several minutes now, it goes through the titles of the companys and thats it. After that it just becomes a blank black screen where I can see my mouse, this has gone on for 5 minutes now, and there should be no reason it didnt load as my computer is not the worst nor the best. I tried reinstalling it, verifying the files, doing a full screen fix with the .exe file and got no where. I dont want to refund the game but I well if I have too if I can't find a fix.

i had the same issue, to fix it i temporarily switched off HDR in windows display settings, i also switched off gsync , loaded the game successfully and set graphics options to windowed fullscreen and upscale method to dlss and resolution to desired res eg 3840x2160 - applied and then quit, i renabled HDR and Gsync and it was then fine. im not sure if this will help you as you may be on AMD/INtel etc and im not sure if it was the combo of gsync and hrd or just hdr/gsync on its own

apparently my HDR isnt even on nor do I have gsync so Im not sure how to get those down. and yes i am on AMD

I had the same issue but I got around it by adding -dx11 to the launch options.
(right click game in library > properties > general and type -dx11 into launch options)

As Visc mentioned, can you try putting -dx11 in the launch options.

Can you also try seeing if your graphics settings is up to date and also try and run the game as admin?

Tried that, didnt work. I also want to point out I cant start the game from the .exe file. It crashes everytime saying "Habitat createprocess() returned 2"
