Accents
Anyone else (generally American native English speakers) hear the accents and local colloquialisms (♥♥♥♥♥, arse, Jayzes fookin Kryst!, etc...) and just immediately get un-immersed and laugh a little bit? Nothing necessarily wrong with it and I get games from all over the world are made, I just find it funny and hard to ignore and it really takes me out of any immersion lol.

Be thankful they didn't go with scouse accents (or even worse, Brum accents lol), there is a world outside the US and not being Scottish, but having Scottish mates I understand everything said

That would be so cool though! With Jamie Carragher dubbing one character 😁

I think they meant English as in the language, not the nationality/geography/ethnicity lol.

I was actually disappointed that this word is never used in the game :steammocking:

I don't know just read like English accents e.g regional since saying just accent would make more sense plus so many genuinely think that
Lol so many butthurt people projecting things onto me. I never said it was bad, I even mentioned in the OP that I understood games were made all over the world, it just breaks immersion for me.

If I hear an English accent in a movie, I've found the bad guy. If I hear a non-English accent on a car show, it's obviously trash. If I hear a Welsh accent, I have no idea WTF is going on. These things happen and people are pre-disposed to certain things. I never wished the game ill will or anything, you'd think I spit n your grandmas face or something lmao.

As someone who's traveled and been to several other countries, accents have their time and place, but when they come at me unexpected, it's just a bit different is all.

How is the game BTW?

Yeah I often find myself suprised when a game set in Scotland has Scottish accents, who'd have thought.

It started funny, but now you just sound so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sad that the americuh comments pretty much painted you perfectly.

Yeah solid 6 little horror title, heartfelt characters and dialogue if lacking replay value.

So they used the accent and dialect that perfectly matches the story's setting - and it's not immersive?

His comment reads like he needs the game to be set in America with American accents and culture, to be immersed. Maybe he just doesn't know the meaning of the word "immersion". He has a very skewed perspective of the world it seems.

It is rather funny how the word immersive and/or immersion should be banned from some folk's dictionary till they learn their proper use isn't it? :P
