We are thrilled to announce that the Stray Blade 1.7 update is live on Steam and ready to play.

We included patch notes below.

Combat Adjustments
- The Combat Rework!
o Attack indicators were removed with associated limitations on defensive actions (except for certain powerful and boss attacks that will still be unparryable, marked by a red glow).
o Increased dodge ranges to increase mobility.
o The Tutorials were adjusted to reflect the combat system changes.
- Reduced the camera stutters.
- Camera adjustments to make for a more pleasant experience (a.k.a the combat camera doesn't fight your camera input anymore).
- Increased weapon mastery speed.
- Reduced slow motion effect when getting hit.
- Reduced Irakka hitbox sizes, as well as general adjustments (less hp, less charge attack damage).
- Fixed target switch not working on Training Dummies in the tutorial.
- Increased damage of Rotten Longsword heavy attack and reduced HP of tutorial enemies for smoother first encounters.
- Increased radius for perfect dodges slightly again.
- Increased poise regens delays of enemies across the board.
- Equalized backstab damage to create consistency (with some higher damage exceptions)
- Adjusted hitboxes of some creatures (Irakka, Broodmother, Gwar).
- Adjusted difficulty presets slightly.
- Fixed possibility to cancel knockback death animation with jump.
- Fixed Xhinnon general hitboxes, various timing adjustments on attacks and stagger.

Collectibles & Exploration
- The Story Note "Creature Studies 3" is not missable anymore.
- Corrected subregion display of the Arcane Forge within the Tamed Peaks from "Chilling Passage" to "The Ascent".
- Ensured that all Acrean Legacies are not missable.
- Added chests containing bone dust within the first half of the Everforest.
- Added more crafting stations in the Everforest.
- Increased drop rates of crafting resources.
- Changed miscellaneous flavor voice lines throughout the game.

Trophies & Achievements
- All of these achievements were reported as problematic, and are now fixed in 1.7! We also added achievement re-evaluations on level load to ensure that all players get the unlocks if they encountered the issues before.
o Globetrotter: Find all Flux Fungi.
o Forest Expert: Complete the Everforest to 100%.
o Mountain Lover: Complete the Tamed Peaks to 100%.
o Wasteland Connoisseur: Complete the Seething Wastelands to 100%.
o Explorer by Heart: Complete the Convergence to 100%.
o Sponsor: Skill Boji up to 100%.
- Story Notes and Armor chests will now be counted in the Collectible lists on the world map.
- Fixed "Shapes in the fog" story note being missable.

Other fixed Issues & Problems
- Updated Credits.
- Removed Enemy Attack Indicators option from the settings menu.
- Fixed the ResolutionScale setting being reset on startup.
- Fixed difficulty settings sometimes not being saved.

We are excited to announce that we worked on some big changes behind the curtain, including a combat rework!

Soon these changes will go live on the main version of the game, but if you already have Stray Blade then you are invited to participate in the 1.7 Patch Beta. You can be among the first to test out this exciting update and share your experience with the Stray Blade developers at Point Blank Games.

So if you want to try out our new combat and enjoy the patch 1.7 fixes early before they also release on the main version of the game, you are now free to swap branches on Steam!

The Combat Rework

Boji: "How exciting! I suppose it could take some time to get used to, but nothing a great fighter like Farren can't handle! But ... what did you change?"

We listened to all your feedback and heard that most of you would enjoy a more souls-like combat system that allows for more freedom in how to engage in combat. We went back and reworked the core combat to feel more agile and allow for player choice. We hope you will enjoy the changes towards a more souls-like approach. We would love to hear more of your feedback on the combat and balancing changes and if you think this is moving Stray Blade in the right direction. Have fun playing!

In short, this means:

How to switch Steam Versions to access the Beta

1) Open your game library and go to "Stray Blade"
2) Right Click on "Stray Blade" in your library list and select "Properties..."
3) Select Betas
4) Click on the drop-down menu where currently "none" should be written
5) Select Beta
6) Wait for the Update
7) Enjoy!

Have you ever wondered where Boji vanishes to when you are taking your well-earned breaks? Well, Boji visited us in Berlin not too long ago to tell us about all the adventures you had in Acrea! But while he had many positive things to share, he also told us about all the troubles and problems some of you encountered.

We rolled up our sleeves and got to work, trying to patch as many things as possible - "with feeling" of course!

Underneath you will find a list with already fixed issues - and don't worry, more is coming!

Boss Fixes & Tweaks
Boji: "Bosses who jump down abysses, slam their heads into the ground ... Being captured for
hundreds of years surely can't be healthy but ... Did they lose their minds?"

The Intium General
- The Intium General is now invulnerable before activated to prevent activation by hitting him.
- General improvements to his combat behavior, tweaking his attacks and patterns.

Tezuth the Champion
- Tezuth no longer follows the player into the abyss.

End Boss
- The invisible volumes around the arena were adjusted, so the boss should no longer be able to die from fall damage.

Combat Adjustments
Boji: "Farren is a brilliant fighter, you know? But sometimes when Farren gets killed, it doesn't feel just. And believe me, I have seen Farren die again and again, so I know the difference!"

- The dodge range backwards has been increased for slightly improved mobility.
- Farren will no longer take damage from all enemies when successfully parrying.
- Simultaneous attacks by multiple enemies have been removed unless they are triggered by proximity.
- The tolerance window for receiving energy restoration on dodges has been increased.
- The exploit of using infinite Xhinnon Vision attacks with the "Serpent and Viper"-weapon has been removed.

Collectibles & Exploration
Boji: "I think Farren is finally starting to like Acrea! There are so many things to see and find - but sometimes things just seem to vanish, and some paths are pretty dangerous, leading to us being stuck for hours!"

- The Story Note "No progress" in Tamed Peaks won't vanish any longer.
- The Flux Fungus at Heaven's Climb Temple was moved inside the temple.
- Increased radius for collecting dropped loot.
- Unintended path within the Seething Wastelands was fixed, as it led to critical sequence break which blocked further progress.

Other fixed Issues & Problems
Boji: "I hope I am not losing my mind as well, but it feels like sometimes I just don't know what abilities I already have, and which not! I know Acrea is a magical, wonderful and sometimes strange place - but some things are too strange for even me!"

- Boji's Skill Tree visuals for fully skilled attributes have been fixed.
- The "skill learnable"- animation for Boji's Skill Tree which sometimes didn't play has been fixed.
- A UI VFX animation has been added to the Energy Bar for when it is empty.
- The Health Bars of enemies that didn't display zero HP when they died have been fixed.
- The unintended "weapon chest collectible"- text which was visible on the map at the Stilted Plateau in the Seething Wastelands was removed.
- For Xbox-players: a difficulty selection prompt on Continue Game was added for when no difficulty has been selected before.
