Trophie Hunters and Noobs. Yes we are.
Hello there!

A friend of mine and I will start this game maybe this night or tomorrow, we enjoy this type of games and we like to obtain all achievements playing co-op games.

The reason to make this post is just to ask a couple of things:

1.- Since we will play all in co-op, is there any buggy achievement or thing that can break our experience?

2.- Do you have any advice that won't break our game experience? Specially our first hours... Normally those hours are the more "magical" hours in a game.

Thank you all!

1- don't know any co-op bugs;
but as gameplay experience, you can accidentally skip a level or two of progression, if you munchkin enough, due to ability to specialise and dedicate time to combat or mining abilities - I heard complains of people, who are dissatisfied that if you try hard enough, you can beeline (accidentally or not) to later gear, and then the content you would have faced earlier (if you followed the directions the game gives you) would feel underwhelming, since you would be too overlevelled/overgeared for it to be challenging "properly"
I don't understand this mentality, but apparently there is enough people who feel like it

2 - don't kill all the cows/rams etc - any cattle, because they don't respawn (like all other mobs in game, so it is rather counterintuitive), and you need at least two to breed them
you can make a new world and bring some extinct cattle from there later in game, but it is a very frustrating discovery (and you need to get some nice progress to get to the point of making cattle moving cages)

EDIT: You can get the achievements by tossing the legendary weapons to one another so, no. There are no achievements you cannot get in Multiplayer as far as I have found.

1. I can also vouch that I don't know of any, but there are a type I can think of that MIGHT be annoying. There are 4 "hidden" (really they're just hidden if you're not paying any attention what-so-ever) legendary weapons and 1 off-hand. At least one of the weapons can only be crafted once-per-world (the pieces to build it are 100% certain to spawn, but only one of each "scene" as they're called in this game spawns. So only one person can craft it per world). The off-hand can only only be made once per world. A second of the weapons CAN potentially be crafted 3 times per world... but it's not a guarantee, it's only 100% that 1 of each scenes required will spawn BUT 3 maximum CAN potentially. The third and forth are able to be made as many times as you get the stuff for them. So... you MIGHT need a second world for 1 or 2 of those, hopefully someone else can confirm or deny, I will test it the next chance I get with a friend that made two of them in our current world and update when I do so. If you play single-player, ALL achieves are 100% doable and none are miss-able, but in multiplayer, if any would need a second world it would be those ones.

2. Going in blind I would find it hard to imagine you could ruin the experience, there is a good, "NOPE! Progress to progress, no big skips." to stop you from leaving early game too soon. If you're worried about potentially making things too easy, as Ilthe mentioned in their reply just play on Hard Mode. In my opinion, the base game on normal is too easy by default anyway, but on Hard Mode it doesn't matter if you have 2 or 3 stages of gear ahead of where you "should" be, you can and will still die in 1-3 hits from MANY enemies, including early-game ones for a long time.

The game is made with the potential for you to get gear "early", intentionally. It often comes as rare/low-chance drops from certain enemies or from rare/limited scenes that spawn. You're supposed to occasionally find something cool that is ahead of where you're at.

My last bit of advice is that you basically can't automate anything other than ore collection and wood collection, and you have to put PLENTY of time and effort into the ore nodes initially; it doesn't feel cheap or anything, it feels like you've earned those drill set-ups once you get to them. The way monster generation works in this game is TERRIBLE, so making an effective mob farm with ANY of the floor types that spawn enemies is extremely difficult and the amount of time and effort to make one that IS effective is so intense you could have just gone and manually farmed more, faster, before you even get anything remotely automated up and running. IF you do want to make rooms for spawning though, the simplest concept to remember is BIG. You need to make large, empty, rooms and fill them with literally thousands of the floor tiles that spawn monsters and then just leave those going and check in once every 30 minutes - 1 hour. You'll, in most cases, still be disappointed, but it's something at least.

There is a lot to discover, you will probably hit a point where you think "we're getting close to done" but you will then realize "Oh, we're like... halfway". That's happened to everyone I know at roughly the same point.

Good luck and just try to remain blind as long as possible.
