After grinding for hours trying to find a desert ruby. And with no joy. This game now brings no fun. Will have to stop. I hope someone can reply with some way to farm this easily. But I have spent hours in the desert, hours in the crystal biome killing everything and smashing everything. I am literally blocked. Nope.

Just use mods and give yourself what you need after a few attempts.

I got sick of hunting down a certain structure on my world and used mods only to find out that there were only 4 on mine despite some other people having at least 10.

What mod would you suggest to find the desert ruby?

It's literally called something like "the cheat mod" on Core Launcher. Lets you spawn in whatever you want.

The crystal biome is gonna be your ultimate go-to. The crystals along with crystal mobs has a low chance of dropping it along with the arena you can find in the biome

Just summon core commander to beat that boss up for quick 3 random gems.

Some people dupe TNT to sell it for money trader to buy more of boss summon.

Unless you don't like duping stuff. In my case probably selling cook food for money and I have really big farm any way. Also I probably spend some time grinding in the crystal biome like place to grind down those monster for a bit and come back to check on npc trader to see if they restock core commander summon.

Hmm..... Not recommended. This boss have a bit lower chance of getting desert ruby compare to Core Commander. That will be... Urschleim. That one is a bit harder to deal with. You going need a lot of speed to out run this boss.

wdym "not recommended"? he literally needs all 3 Titan's souls for Commander...

Basically have to find alien fortresses in Crystals zones for challenges and there's a chance in breakables.

If your mining is high enough you can try finding chests in ruins in the Passage.

Just make sure you keep enough gems to resummon Titans once you find some.

The reason I think it not recommended is for Urschleim. I not say all other method not worth it. I find that Urschleim that I need to clear a long path for Urschleim to avoid runnning into dead end in the Passage. Last time I fight that that boss I run into a building or a hole/fossil wall block. This just me being cheap on not using all potion buff.

Haven't killed this one yet, still investigating/prepping the area.

After his pass you have a fair amount of time to look around, just make sure you have a safe pocket when he comes by tho.

the crystal biome is good for them but also i think pydra can drop them

Half right. Find the alien arenas in said biome, in the section closest to the desert. Finishing one is guaranteed gems, and supposedly the ones near the desert are guaranteed rubies. Those arenas are how I got enough gems to get started, after that, it was a core commander slaughter with a stormbringer and ALOT of food buffs. As in, every hot slot aside from the weapon was a different buff. After that, urshliem was a joke, dying in about... 15 seconds.

Also, killing pyrdra is a guaranteed 2

When my sister and I played, we saw the Rubies drop, but they didn't get picked up.
So we only were able to get them from Pyrdra. We did communicate the issue at discord.
Not sure if anything happened with that information and if this is still a ongoing issue.
It happened on separate day, to the both of us. So I am sure it was a bug at that time.
Has been a couple weeks back.

Let me guest. You went with all crit rate/crit damage gear and all potion/food buff. I don't feel like do some thing like that yet.

Searching all the desert area crystal zones is your first option, just remember to smash all mimites and big crystal plants, if you're lucky you will also find a challenge arena, in the desert is 2 rubies guaranteed.

Another option is wander into the passage area, chests there have a decent chance of gems in general.
