Crafting from storage chests.
I really hope we can get this in a near future update. If my storage has all my copper, iron, tin, wood, etc. I should be able to make stuff without having to transfer everything to inventory. Same for cooking.
It's just too tedious otherwise...I think every crafting game should just let you craft from your total inventory, including chests, stashes, what's on the ground near you, etc. Just have a range where if it's within 10 squares, you can craft with it.

I do really enjoy the game, though. Bought it right away. This was the standout title from Next Fest for me.

This is a good idea (and if you are interested in positive media coverage...something that Splattercat rants about regularly).

Why I refunded, I'm sick of clunky juggling inventories in these games. Let us craft from chests.

would be a great help all ready have everything by each other in chests so wouldn't have to keep taking everything out :P

I also think this would be a good QoL improvement, and to add onto your idea i think if you are within 10 squares or you storages you should be able to "Q" your inv into them instead of going into them one by one.

If the chests had a radius of being able to be linked to your inventory and crafting stations that'd be pretty cool. But... since we all just surround a double chest in crafting stations to deal with the limitations, I wonder if maybe there could be a new crafting station or storage container that you would make out of a couple robotic arms and a conveyor belt and it would link all nearby chests and stations for you to use everything that's within it's reach or connected to it. I'm not exactly sure how it would completely look in my head at the moment but since we're in a realm of mystical magical energy and high tech stuff it could lead to a lore friendly and game mechanic friendly solution to having access to all of your inventory containers, maybe even in other rooms of your base if you connect them up. Although I definitely would not complain at all if I could just stand near enough to a row of chests and craft the normal way, I figured I would attempt to come up with a different idea for it.

It the chest is touching a crafting bench it will currently pull the items

I like the idea of crafting chest as you mentioned. Right now it kinda does that for the repair bench. If you have the bars/resources stored in an adjacent chest.

Some games have something called a crafting bag (thinking ESO), where you just have dedicated inventory to crafting-like items (food, plants, ores, etc.) I think this would be great if it was just another inventory we could toogle between (and ores and such just go there instinctively). I understand that is a very desirable feature and is usually p2p/add-on. But if there's enough of an ask I don't see why it couldn't be incorporated.

And even if it linked all chests touching chests (touching chests, etc.) that are touching a workbench, it'd be more helpful. I don't mind them having to be in a chain of touching chests.

Will a titan chest work? Are they paintable? I just put my work bench(s) around my chest. So I have a chest with 3 tables and a open spot to walk in to fill it. Works pretty well for me.

I do like that the garden hoe can till against a wall - I mean if you have something not exactly square it still gets the crops and doesn't damage the other items.

I would like to see the ability to put a chest connected to a food pot and pull from the chest. (And for the record swappable loadouts as long as items are in inventory, and being able to pass through bridges would be great but I am not sure how hard that would be. I asked this before and it was a war after a bit.)

I don't have a titan chest yet, but I assume it's a much bigger chest. So keep in mind players in the early- and mid-game can use some better QoL as well.

Oh I absolutely agree. If you could link 2 chests together like MC that would be a big plus.

You can fit 6 crafting stations around a double chest and it works fine, just stand in one of the corners.

An idea would be to introduce some kind of connection cable with which you can connect all the boxes and workbenches together.

Keep in mind for a lot of the game you don't have double-chests. So it doesn't work all that fine.
