Fiber (Grub Kapok) seed return

Can anyone help with this? I planted Bomb pepper plus Heart berry seeds and usually get more seeds when I harvest. Although that doesn't happen with Grub Kapok seeds. Do i need to plant it in the clay ground or something?

You never get more then 1 seed per plant when you harvest.
Your getting extras from slimes without even noticing them, this keeps you ahead on heart berry and bomb pepper.
But Kapok don't come from them, so until you get your gardening so high that you 100% get return seed every time you'll always be a bit short.

The first gardening perk increases your guaranteed seed return rate to 100%. Harvest bonus only affects your chance of getting double crops, which is very helpful for cooking XP.

The only way to increase your seed pile is to go exploring and collect mob drops.
