what exactly IS fishing power?

If the items I actually WANT are the valuable and otherwise non fish items, do I even WANT fishing power?

I know the items that are +% chance to get a fish on the hook (fishing set legs) are actually BAD for me.

Wondering the same question here, I've read in a guide[www.thegamer.com] that it concerns allowed fishing area. Though no informations on any other stat's.

I feel like it's easier to fish with higher level, but I'm not sure if I'm getting my hand on it thus making it easier or if stat has an impact at all.

As well as allowing fishing in higher level zones, I believe it makes the line harder to snap and faster to recover from an accidental pull on red. But as Kobaru said - it could just be my imagination now that I'm a fairly proficient fisherman.
