Can i equip boat/minecart?

It is extremely stupid to build a railroad to a place, so i can reach it faster, build a mine cart and go there, to then tp to base and having to build another mine cart because i can't summon the one i already had. Also the boat is stupid because if you die with the boat outside inventory or not in the actionbar/trash, u need to make another.
