fungal soil ? how to grow mushrooms?

description says something about mycelium but what is that and where do i get it?

Fungal soil is in patches all over the dirt biome. If you see a spot where there's a lot of mushrooms, both stationary and hostile, the patches of darker ground are Fungal Soil. That will grow mushrooms on it wherever you place it. It'll also spawn Shroomen, though, so be careful.

so i just need to place it once i picked it up? whats about the mycelium then? description says something about it

...you just place the Fungal soil tile down....or as many as you like....then mushrooms will grow of their accord....Shroomen will auto pop up too...just a little less frequent...

to grow the fungi plants all you need are the blocks from the fungus biome. just use your shovel. remove the blocks where you want a field and replace them with the blocks from the fungus biome. done. now you can use the hoe on them and then plant them normally. no enemies will spawn.

It says the fungal soil has mycelium in it. It's just flavor text and doesn't mean anything. Yeah, you just pick it up and put it down elsewhere to make a more accessible (or contained) mushroom farm
